AU where after the mecha suit explodes, Robert actually dies. Somehow, the astral pulse lodges itself in his chest and that restarts his heart. Robert is only alive because the astral pulse keeps his heart beating. Robert is told it's a miracle he's alive, but he doesn't see it that way because now there's no way he can be Mecha Man unless he finds an alternative energy source. When he joins SDN, everyone notices the glowing blue light in his chest but he just says it's some fancy pacemaker. Invisigal immediately recognizes what it is. She also recognizes that Shroud wouldn't hesitate to rip it out of Robert's chest to take it for himself.

You can have your expectations, sure, but we weren't promised anything specific and thats ok. Just let them tell a fun story about a seasonally depressed flat ass guy working at a superhero company where everyone is an asshole.
