A wrinkle of entertainment folds against the features of the doctor as he glanced towards the other, his younger female companion complaining of the costume he was suggesting. Though unlike her, Soohyun thought it was rather amusing– - after all, no one usually dressed up in lousy, old fashioned cartoon character costumes anymore for Halloween and he’s sure there are others who thinks the same way as he does. Then again, it could be just his conservative side that demands to see less skin every year, especially from the other whom he looked at like a younger sister. “It isn’t that bad.” He says in a matter of fact tone, holding the Minnie Mouse dress high for the two of them to look at. “I think it looks cute.”

halloween meant cute girls wearing so many cute things and even though she never really enjoyed dressing up, she scratched the tip of her nose when he held up the costume for her to see. it was... cute, too cute for her taste but hey - maybe it wasn’t all that bad. april merely bit down her bottom lip and looked up at her seemingly older brother with puppy dog eyes as if to plead for her to not wear that. though, her expression shifted almost immediately after clearing her throat. “it’s cute, i’ll... wear it if you go as goofy with me or somethin’. is that even his name? the yellow dog... so we could be like a team or something! please, please! i would wear this all day all night if you agree.”

What did he need? Perhaps the man could make a list, sort of organize his thoughts in a bit (though realistically speaking, a bit isn’t suffiencent enough to even organize the last pieces of sanity he had left, or so he feels). He needed a lot of things. He needed time to rest– - oh, how his work had gotten the best of hi lately, especially with everything going on in his life. Sometimes he feels like he isn’t given enough time to catch up, other times he feels like time is flying by too slow, in a sense that he haphazardly finds himself clueless to the world. He needs someone to listen to thought of the unknown, darkness that clothes him as he basks in little to no sun. He needs to feel that someone is still there for him because the heavens know just how lost his wandering soul is, doors that have closed shut on him with opportunities of greatness passing by without discretion.

But most importantly, he needed a sanctuary of some sort, someone whom he knows would be there for him at a time like this. Is he wrong to think that the woman could give it to him? He doesn’t know– - at least, not yet. But in time, he’s bound to find out. In time, he’ll have an answer to all the questions he have.

“Just stay and talk to me.” He finally answers after a long stretch of silence engulfs the two of them, nothing but the sound of the small coffee shop’s elevator music surrounding them. “Tell me how your day was and everything else in between.”

It was funny how Junhee met the doctor. It was rare for her to take an interest in someone but he, well, he was an exception she might say. How did they met? Through an accident. A real accident involving a car, a family, ambulances, police, fire; the whole lot. And to think Junhee had a principle where she would always stand by the side lines when it wasn’t her business. Don’t intervene, this wasn’t your fight. Let them sort out their own mess. But when it involved a child trapped in a car, threatened to be engulfed by the flame as he cried out for his dead parents; there was an instinct in Junhee to save him. 

Fast forward a couple months, her burns now healed, the child she ensured was taken care of within her own means; the doctor that was in charge to treat the child and her wounds became her friend. Well, friend wouldn’t be the correct term more like close acquaintances. Another funny thing about life was how once you’ve recognized a person, you’ll constantly meet that person in your life; you’re aware of their presence. And that was the case with Junhee and him. She met him in cafes, bookstores, on her daily morning jog. It seemed like life was toying with them.

“You know I’m not much of a talker,” she murmured as she took a sip of the now turned cold black coffee, her eyes tore away from his tired face momentarily. She searched for the words, whatever to say to him to fill the silence she was accustomed to but for him, it was the opposite. “Remember the night we first met? The child I was with? He’s settling nicely in his new home. Funny, he’s inspired by you. He told me he wants to be an ER doctor.”

“Ah, I think I may get a little embarrassed talking about him.. Soohyun is becoming a very important person in my life. He is patient with me, he is sweet, and a good man that anyone would be lucky to have in their life. But women, beware, because I won’t allow you to have him if I can help it. He’s sort of captivated me, which is no easy task, and this handsome man is someone that I am not going to let go of. I really do adore him, and having him in my life is such a blessing. He brings color to my dark, boring life and that’s something no man has been able to do for a long while. I think he adores me as well, but you’d have to ask him that, hmm.. ~”

Oh my one and only bae. ;; where do i start? I may ramble a little too much about her, hehe. She’s a very important person to me, but I’m sure she knows that by now. We’ve been rp partners here for a while and even after I left, she remembered me which was a shock because I worried she wouldn’t. And we came back together, and I was so happy. ^^ Her writing is just breathtaking and her characters -- they’re all wonderful, brought to life by her writing and the development she gives them. I enjoy talking to her a lot, she’s probably the one person on here which I feel most comfortable with, because she’s so easy to talk to and I don’t worry over what I say. I love the threads we plan together for Soohyun and Nana, and I love even more how we gush over them together. Ugh, really I’m going to stop before I ramble too much - I just love this girl a lot. uvu

[ The Not-So-Domestic Meme. ]19: causing a fire while cooking.↪ status: accepting!

When Nana insisted on cooking dinner for the two of them that night, Soohyun was very reluctant to agree after she told him before about how she burned down a microwave, but it was hard to tell her no when she was so passionate about doing something nice for him. Not to mention, that big doe eyed look she gave him was hard to resist too. She had some sort of power over him and she knew it, and she was learning just how to use it to her advantage.

Nana was an excellent surgeon, nobody could argue that but she wasn’t an extraordinary cook. In fact, she was terrible. The kitchen in her apartment is rarely used unless someone else is cooking, so she was eager to finally put her oven to use that night with a casserole that she thought would be so easy to make. 

Adding all of the ingredients and throwing it together in the pan was easy, in fact. She was so confident that it would turn out perfect that she had to brag about it to Soohyun in a text message, telling him how delicious their dinner would be that night and to not be late so that it wouldn’t get cold. With a smile stretching from one ear to another, the doctor sets the timer on the oven for thirty minutes, and then leaves the kitchen to laze around on the sofa in the living room while waiting for it to finish baking.

I’ll just rest my eyes for a few minutes while it cooks, she tells herself as a yawn parts her lips, and she stretches out across the couch comfortably.

A few minutes turns to ten. And then thirty, and then forty, and she doesn’t know how much time has passed now but she wakes up to the deafening sound of the smoke alarm ringing through her apartment. Thick smoke clouds the air and she tries to wave it away as she rushes to the kitchen, alarmed by the sight of her oven swallowed up by orange flames.

“Omo! Oh no, no! -” In a frantic rush to save her kitchen from being burned down to the ground, she grabs the emergency fire extinguisher from the wall and aims the short hose at the flames, spraying it with the foam until it sizzles away, leaving the remnants of her charcoal black stove covered in the foamy material. 

And although it’s a tragedy that her stove has been ruined, and there’s a possibility she could have been hurt from her careless behavior, she only worries over what they’ll eat that night now. She quickly recovers from the scare, and swallows her pride to send Soohyun a text message to tell him of the change in dinner plans.
