SIBT here! For the book ask, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 :)
Thanks for asking! This ended up being way harder to answer than anticipated : |
1: What is your favorite book?
I know this is such a cliched answer, but I really do love Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. Ooh, and also East of Eden by Steinbeck!
2: What was the last book you read?
I’m almost done reading All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. It has the most accurate depiction of bipolar disorder (even though it’s not named in the book) I have EVER seen in a work of fiction. It really is stellar. The last book I finished reading was Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl, which is hilarious and tragic in equal measure.
3: What is the worst book you’ve ever read?
Okay, so I try to avoid books that I know are probably poorly written, so I haven’t read too many horrible books. This means - and please don’t hate me - my answer is going to be Divergent by Veronica Roth. I really did not like that book.
Also! The Old Man and The Sea, which I feel bad about because I love Hemingway, but boy did that book depress me. And bore me, for that matter. I know, I’m a bad person.
4: Top 7 book characters.
In no particular order (and mostly for entirely different reasons): 1. Holden Caulfield (Catcher in the Rye)2. Elizabeth Bennett (Pride and Prejudice)3. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)4. Mrs. Dalloway (Mrs. Dalloway)5. Catherine Morland (Northanger Abbey)6. Harriet M. Welsch (Harriet the Spy)7. Melinda Sordino (Speak)
5: What is your favorite genre?
I love coming-of-age novels (bildungsroman). This usually leads me to gravitate towards YA books, but within that genre, I usually stick to literary realism.
