UPDATE =)
The new job is going well. Like, really well. So well my boss basically threw down a gauntlet -a very shiny sparkly beautiful gauntlet- at my feet and said, "Learn this. Master it. Find ways to improve it. Do that and I will shoot you into the stratosphere." (His compliment to me was that he felt I thought in logical work flow patterns. I nearly fainted with joy!)
That "gauntlet" is a hardcore data merging program on steroids that basically takes text, information, and images (especially multiple layered Photoshop and Illustrator files), filters and organizes everything through an Excel spreadsheet and feeds it into InDesign which would have a variable layout template where by we can live stream print directly into an industrial size digital printer.
For our studio it means setting up massive print jobs for national marketing campaigns for our clients.
Only one other person in the studio knows how to use this. My boss said if I do well with it, not only will I be put in the hot seat where these massive print jobs are concerned, but I'll be able to train new employees and eventually head my own team to oversee everything. (read that as Ultimate Job Security and eventual raise in pay)
I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS I CAN'T EVEN!!
I have a huge tech manual to study, which I have been hammering at for the last two weeks, and sometime this week I'm supposed to sit down with the other person who knows this program and work with them on it. I've put in a lot of extra hours on this, but I know it will be worth it in the end.
Meanwhile it's eating all my brain power and I apologize for having such weak posts, meager ques, sparse original graphics and screen caps and ZERO writing lately.
Thanks for sticking with me and for your patience. =) I really appreciate it like WHOA.
I love all of you! xoxo

Clicking the link just takes me to the main page, and this one isn’t listed with your other mixes :( I wanna feel the funk!
FIXED! For some reason 8tracks was holding it as a private mix.I'll send you the link privately as well.
BEWARE it is a NOT SAFE FOR WORK MIX.

Fair enough! It’s def one of those things where it’s up to the individual. With Robo I stick to a certain amount of respect re: historical persons & let other things slide if within reason.
But see, you and your team have crafted settings and characters and a dialogue where that not only works, but often enhances the stories you are telling. And you know, you guys are pros and know exactly what the heck you are doing while I am just a two bit hobbist who mucking about.
It's like my design teachers told us in school: you have to know the rules and produce quality work before you can purposely break those rules and produce phenomenal work.
You guys are the latter.

Fudge it and put it in anyway! The effect is probably more important than being correct.
The Chameleon's "Swamp Thing" is another one. 1986.
I dunno. As a DJ I feel like I have a responsibility not to get mocked by my peers in the industry if they should catch wind of this. I know that sounds whacked but when I write sci-fi I try to do some research and be as close to the hard science as I possibly can while still being entertaining. And writing something historically accurate means something too. I guess I want integrity in my writing if that makes sense?
So maybe instead I should just keep writing later years into the series to use those and make use of the music that was released and available in 1983 anyway.
1982 and 1983 were really fantastic years for New Wave, Post-Punk and early Alternative music. We had the Smiths, The Cure, The Thompson Twins, The Waitresses, XTC, The Kinks, The Police, Early Lucky Star Madonna, New Order, The Boomtown Rats, The Psychedelic Furs, Thomas Dolby, Joe Jackson.....Patti Smith! If I can't find something to work with out of that lot I might as quit being a writer AND a disc jockey.

I can never find a .gif of Merry saying “My lady” when I need one :(
No shit. Or a Wayne & Garth "We're not worthy".
Let's see 28, 29, and 30!
28: A song by an artist with a voice that you loveGoing to give you two- First…. Geddy Lee - Rush - Moving Pictures - Second….Jon Anderson - Yes - Fragile
Note - Nina Simone and Martha Washington were close calls but I went for high and clear instead of deep and smokey.
29: A song that you remember from your childhood TRUE STORY. I was 10 years old. And I had heard Paul Simon’s 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover on the radio and really liked it. So I bought the album it was on “Still Crazy After All These Years” with money I had (with my Dad’s help) and I totally fell in LOVE with the title song. At 10 it spoke to me and it still does and it’ll be played at my funeral if I can swing it. There is also THIS: Bruce Cockburn - Wonderin’ Where The Lions Are. Fact - I still own both original vinyl LPs.
30: A song that reminds you of yourselfHybrid - Break My Soul because the truth of it is that it’s highly accurate right now.
And thank you for sending these!! <3
sic-gorgiamus gets a "get out of jail free" for the wanton destruction of precious Police vinyl but only because she totally answered all my dumbass questionnaire things I sent her.
And Ms Black, no you don't owe me anything, ever. Though opening night tickets to the Atomic Robo movie if it ever happens would be lovely, if for no other reason so I can buy you popcorn.
