Hey You Little Sick Things!
I know I haven't been updating this blog and I'm so sorry. I just wanted to say that this blog is still active and hopefully I can find time to actually maintain it like I used to. I had to go be a grown up in this damned world unfortunately.
I personally use it as an archive. I will keep adding to it tho. Feel free to reblog as much as you like.
Love this Fandom so much!!!! You guys mean so much to me!!
With a fist like a hammer and a stick like a rock! Alice. If anyone knows who took the photo I drew this from can they let me know? Would like to credit.
Amid all the (self-imposed) stress of the past week, at least I got ONE piece of good news yesterday. Remember that $21,000+ medical bill that my insurance only covered $350 of? I got a letter from the hospital yesterday. It read, in part:
After careful review of the information provided, your Community Care Application has been approved. As a result of this discount, the remaining balance on the above account(s) is: $0.00
[emphasis theirs, as is the lack of a period at the end of the paragraph]
People at work told me not to expect more than a partial discount, and to expect just slightly less life-long debt, but...I do make less now managing a casino than I did when I left Disneyland as a lead in 1997 (and I even made less at Disneyland when I returned there in 2002 in the same job). And with my insurance being so abysmal, they thankfully took pity upon me.
At least that’s ONE less stress, though I’m still proverbially pulling my hair out about my abysmal decision last weekend and the consequences that are yet to come.
I told people I was taking this last week off to de-stress, and I ended up with WAY more stress than I was under before. But I did it to myself by doing something stupid.
I literally had a dream last night that my crush told me she “was up sick till 5am last night”, and -like- what do I do with this? That was almost the entire dream. What- what do I do now?
It’s very difficult to make a dignified trip to the bathroom when you know there’s a snot bubble coming out of your nose. Just saying.
I was just told that I’m gonna be in the hospital overnight.
I am going SO far into debt by the minute.
My boss forbade me to do any actual work today after he saw how I looked and how quickly I would get winded. My job today, in his words, was to “take up space and hold the keys in case they’re needed.” It was like I was in a time-out, sitting in the same chair for seven hours straight (except to go to the bathroom or process a jackpot or sell Keno tickets while the Keno guy was on lunch).
My boss also ORDERED me to see a doctor in the morning before work. He gave me the name of a place that, while it may be expensive, will at least bill me and not demand payment at the time of service. Of course, he said that even with a doctor’s note, I can’t have the day off because every manager has been burning the candle at both ends (which is 100% true), so odds are my next couple of days will be a lot like today (but hopefully with at least slow improvement if I can get some antibiotics or something that actually works).
On the plus side, after Tuesday, he’s giving me a four-day weekend.
Because I have GOT to kick this thing. I want to know what a good night’s sleep feels like again.
