Synopsis:

So why was this deserving of a special RSD release?  We have two songs that if were placed on a live LP to me they would simply be filler.  They dont stand out much to warrant this kind of attention really.  A fun 7″ to have especially if you are a Flogging Molly fan, and im not trying to discredit them in anyway, but if you are going to release something special, make it special not just ordinary.  Live examples of their work from an LA show that sounds like and arena show which loses one of FM’s greatest attributes live...the small pub like intimacy even when in a larger venue.  This sounds like MSG to me.

The layout is pretty ordinary.  I never understood when special release pressings for things like RSD, Record Release Shows or Festivals never get special covers or treatment.  This 7″ was only a limited run for RSD 2010, but yet there is nothing special about it with the exception of the musical content.  Labels and stores charge a premium for these releases and often causes lines and customer rushes for IMO substandard releases...aka its a money grab.  This one feels no different.

#decvinylworship day 13 // highly anticipated but disappointing record: Superheaven - Ours Is Chrome I loved the hell out of Daylight's (before the band changed their name) debut LP, Jar. It was soooo catchy, melodic, and had great riffs and a solid punch and earnestness throughout the whole record. Their follow-up on the other hand, just seemed so dull and uninspired. I was expecting a hell of an album and pre-ordered both the 180g black and the clear with oxblood haze (not pictured here) variants.
