"Hmm." There was a slight uproar when they appointed him as … temporary kage. Better options could've been found at the bottom of a wine cask. Baki knew he was a good shinobi, but that's not what solely makes a good kage—and for all the knowledge he lacked, someone else on the council had triple.
Most, if not all of it, was probably about Gaara anyway. About how Baki already appointed him as his successor. The council couldn't sway Baki in any other direction, and that was labeled as a fault. He knew better than most of them how much the appointed “arms and legs” of the country were treated—what they needed.
He was steadfast and honest, simple. His run as Kazekage didn't need to be one that made history; as long as he didn't put the land of wind to ruin, he'd be happy to be forgotten to the sands of time. Gaara, after him, would be the youngest kage in history and the best one to date. In Baki's humble opinion.
“I highly doubt it's interesting talk.”
