“Sorry, what was that?” Christopher asked from his spot on the couch, completely zoned out.
“I brought lunch from Pedrus,” Lucinda said as she stepped inside, handing the food over to Sienna’s elf.
“Okay, I’m gonna start going through some of these boxes,” Glenda sighed as she stood up from where she’d been lounging with Sienna for most of the morning, having procrastinated dealing with a box of still unsorted clothing that she was planning on getting rid of. “You might want to shield your eyes for this bit,” she teased.

“Okay, so, what are we doing with your hair,” Jo grinned, standing behind Sienna, observing them both in the mirror. “Ver’s much better at hair charms than I am, but she’s -- hey,” she called to Verity, who was currently dealing with their dresses. “Where are we with the something blue thing?”

It had been the night before that James had spoken to him about approached Sienna and speaking to her about Rodolphus, yet, even having a little while to think about it, the nervousness in his stomach hadn’t dissipated. He’d dreaded going over, dreaded the barely two minute walk through their neighborhood from his flat to her townhouse. But he’d gone. It was quite early still as he knocked on her door, half hoping that she wouldn’t be there.

“Hey,” Christopher spoke without looking at the door when he heard Sienna step inside, having been waiting for her to get back. Eyes currently on his phone, he continued to scroll through things in order to avoid looking at her just yet.
Christopher wasn’t sure how long it had been since Regulus had left him there. Vaguely he could tell that ample time had passed by the shifting of the shadows across the carpet, although he’d made no attempt to move in that time. His body felt like lead, his head ached beyond comprehension, and he was quite content to let himself wither away in that spot. Cheek pressed against the floor, he could taste blood in his mouth, the wetness spilling past his lips and onto the plush rug. Eventually he vaguely heard the sound of his name being called, the sound muffled in his ears.
Following his conversation with Thorfinn, Christopher immediately went to look for Sienna, assuming she’d have been freaking out about the entire thing. Truthfully, he’d thought he’d have found her right outside the door and attempting to listen, but upon further inquiry, found her in the bedroom they’d be staying in later that night. “Hey,” he sighed when he finally saw her. “Are you alright?”
