The benefit of an 8ft tall bionic godfather?

Jungle gyming all over his metal arms.

As a kid Belost used to climb all over Silixus and hang off of his arms- they never get tired and the man is a giant which made them prime real estate. The limitless endurance also saved Theron’s shoulders quite a few times on family outings when Belost wanted extended piggyback rides.

Belost might be grown up now but it’s still not uncommon to see Silixus holding an arm out for his Domine to use as a pullup bar. Belost may still act immature around people but he’s always especially playful when around Silixus.

I made a drabble before involving the Hub’s Captain of the Guard, Silixus. He’s a fun character to think about so I got my friend who designed Belost to do a quick concept of him.

A color concept of the Hub’s Captain of the Guard, Silixus. I’m considering having him being a supplementary character. Maybe showing up in drabbles from time to time with Belost in his Agent timeline. Might do a thread or two at some point with him, I dunno. Either way!

Silixus' prosthetic ear obviously helps him hear but it also serves an even more important purpose. It acts as a heatsink for all the advanced implants clustered around in his head- without it either his implants would have to drastically reduce efficiency to avoid damaging themselves or in a worst case scenario could even start to cook Silixus' brain.

Chief Medical Officer Senkor actually used a lot of Silixus' body as a way to draw heat away from his prosthetics. His artificial muscle fibers are made of a heat conductive material and store excess warmth in them- making them feel a bit more real to anybody he touches as a nice little bonus. Silixus' body is also filled with heat pipes which has the benefit of warming his body (reducing the amount of food he has to eat) but also distribute the heat of his prosthetics into his blood stream to act as a form of liquid cooling.

Basically one of the biggest engineering challenges with Silixus was turning him into one big passive cooling system for his advanced implants. Galra normally run a bit hot compared to other species but Silixus is especially warm even for a galra. It did come with a nice bonus though! On cold days out on Merrick Prime he was the ideal choice for a young Belost to climb around on and he also got a bit of satisfaction from knowing he made the weather a little more bearable for the people around him (he'd noticed people instinctively huddling around him during cold days).

And now the grumpass himself Sterad comes to play! The original boys are all here! I may still do Karn and possibly Davus as well but we’ll have to see. These are all my main boys who I have written significantly so I feel good about getting them all in :D

I figured in a Darkest Dungeon setting their placement is all pretty accurate to where they’d be in-game.

Theron would be in the back as a buffer, Sterad would share a back slot and act as a debuffer with back row damage, Belost would basically be a Highwayman analogue who can play in the back or front, Rethan would be a second slot damage dealer, with Silixus tanking in the very front with blocking and high damage melee.

It’s been such a fun project to spend the day on ^^
