The -fuck it- moment when you decide to actually try to cosplay that character/outfit you so want to and forget
-all the work load
-money and time invested
-and all the drama that might come by because of it.
Cosplay what you love and want, even though you don’t have the perfect body type (colour, gender, build) or even if someone else has already done it or wants do to do it too. -you are free-
Cosplay is all in all a hobby and should be kept fun. If you think you need to be this beautiful swan to cosplay all those pretty girls and boys, you are wrong. Although this hobby revolves around self esteem, its how you carry yourself that shows. Learn to love yourself and taking care of what you have, no one is perfect and a lot of people Photoshop something on their pictures. -I hide my dark circles that were badly covered with makeup for example.-
Enjoy the process since the first moment you fall for a character/outfit/fandom and all the moments crafting that outfit you want to, or shopping for the parts/outfit itself if that’s the case
AND Remember that the only one who owns the character you’ve chosen to cosplay is the creator itself so no one can give you shit for cosplaying it!
If someone made the same outfit or wants to make it, you are not worse or unworthy of doing the same. Many cosplayers add they’re own touches to outfits too. No costume is the same cause your not the same cosplayer either. And besides, its a learning experience, no one is perfect at the first go. Take your time and don’t feel down if others seem better at it, everyone had to start from somewhere.
Go do your thing and be happy, have fun. Those complaining and badmouthing are worthless and must have too much free time.
