Katalina: yes! I don't know what's gotten into him, but he seems to think he's cursed in the love department
Minerva: I mean...can you blame him? His only real relationship ended at the instruction of 2 monarchs, one of whom ended up shot.
Katalina: Don't remind me...that ended up leaving us with...many headaches.
Minerva: Has he at least tried dating?
Katalina: Supposedly! But they all end up as one night stands or short flings...I worry he's not taking it seriously...
Minera: Could he possibly be...in love with someone else? Someone he can't have?
Katalina [sighs]: I mean...It's possible! But...do you think this has to do with Magdalena?
Minerva [nodding]: I think so....and Maggie's engagement is not going to help things.
Katalina: Oh Mins, that's wonderful news! Maggie and Magnus are absolutely charming! But you're right...I think that news is going to push him more into this...idea of a loveless marriage!
Minerva: And how is David handling this?
Katalina [frustrated]: For once, he's not on either side! He said that Louis is old enough to make decisions and that I should honor his request....Granted, I think he wouldn't say that if he saw Louis's expenses....Thousands of Simoleons in concerts! And classical music of all things!
Minerva: oh Kat...do you think that....Louis was trying to see Maggie...and this...request for an arranged marriage is born from Maggie's happiness with Magnus?
Katalina: Maybe but still! How am I supposed to arrange a marriage these days?
Minerva: I mean....the Princess Diaries was on to something with that powerpoint....

Magdalena: Um...Mum do you have time-
Minerva: Of course sweetheart. Priya, please let Empress Katalina know that I will call her another day. Tell her that Maggie and I send our regards.
Minerva's assistant: Of course Ma'am.
Magdalena: Um...what did you and Auntie Kat need to talk about? If it's important I can-
Minerva: Oh nothing too important, just some Ladies for Change ideas that Maria Aisha has. Kat wants my opinion on them is all. Please...let's sit darling.
Minerva: what is on your mind?
Magdalena: Did you know Louis would be at the concert last week?
Minerva[shocked]: No! Mon Dieu...he was there.
Magdalena [sadly]: yeah...I ran into him as he was leaving out the backdoor...I just...didn't know if you invited him or something...
Minerva: No...no, we invited David and Kat but they had other obligations so they sent Maria Aisha...who [sighing] promptly went on a bit of a bender with Crown Prince Stephanos...
Magdalena [in disbelief]: How did you end up dating King Alexios Mum? Cause if he was anything like Stephanos-
Minerva: A moment of vulnerability darling. I was hurting over your father and thought I could...use Lexios as a rebound since they were so different and since he was actually more like my type at the time.
Magdalena: Hold on....were you like MA?
Minerva [chuckling]: A bit more discrete...but yes dear. At MA's age, I also wasn't a royal, so I had the space to be a little wild. But I know what you're doing young lady. You ran into Louis? Were you alone? Was Magnus with you?
Magdalena: I was alone...it was just...so quick but so slow at the same time! Its like...I looked in his eyes, and I saw Lou Lou...my Lou Lou...and [tears well up] he looked so sad and so scared Mummy...as if seeing me was causing him so much pain...
Minerva: Oh Maggie, my dear, He probably didn't expect to see you. That has to be the first time you've both seen each other in 3 years, That night must still hurt for both of you. But him going out the back, not being officially invited, he had every intention of not being noticed. [sighing] It makes sense given that your father and Louis are not on the best terms since he yelled at Louis-
Magdalena[shocked]: Daddy yelled at Lou?
Minerva: Of course he did! He's very protective of all of you, but very much you. Louis was the only person outside of the family that he trusted with you. And the fact that in such a brief conversation that night, a switch flipped and you suddenly wanted nothing to see him? Well, your father was very angry but more so disappointed in Louis. And I bet his parents also felt the same. David and Kat love you like one of their own, in fact I think David likes you more than Louis on some days. [Magdalena laughs] He has had to win back the trust of many people, you especially.
Magdalena: He tried to gift me a Stradivarius a couple years ago...I sent it back...
Minerva [shocked]: That is...quite the gift!
Magdalena: It felt like he wanted to...buy back my forgiveness...
Minerva: ahhh...I can see both of your reasons. I think he may have wanted to prove that he listens to your dreams and that he supports you, however misguided the intention. But I understand you sending it back. After all, it takes more than gifts to earn a chance to be in your good graces.
Magdalena [sighing]: Is it...wrong to miss him? I mean... I have Magnus...and I love him, he's been so supportive and loving but...[softly] it feels like something is missing...
Minerva: Not at all! You and Louis were as thick as thieves since the day you two met at his birthday party. You were at just about every big moment for each other. Like it or not, Louis is very much woven into the fabric of your life.
Magdalena[whispering]: So...feeling like this....that's...normal?
Minerva [comfortingly]: I would say so sweetheart. Your father and I went through similar feelings all those years ago...for me it's as if your father was popping up practically everywhere! I literally couldn't pick up a newspaper without seeing your father's name somewhere and not to mention your Auntie Ana kept talking about him. [Magdalena giggles] But it didn't hit me until that day at Whiteglenn-
Magdalena[smiling]: I remember asking you to stay forever cause it'd make Daddy happy.
Minerva [smiling]: I do too. Looking back, all my prior emptiness, was because there was a hole the size of your father in my life. And that day, I decided to fill that hole with your father and you because it felt like that was what should've been. Those bonds, are where I found my truest self.
Magdalena: But Louis has caused so much hurt and pain...even before then...
Minerva: Yes, but he also brought so much good into your life no?
Magdalena: Yeah...Magnus...suggested forgiving him...
Minerva: You can.
Magdalena: Even after all the hurtful things he said? How can I trust him?
Minerva [sadly chuckling]: If your father can forgive me for all of the hurtful things I told him every time we split, I do think somewhere in that big Quinn heart of yours, you can find it to forgive Louis.
Minerva: You also don't have to forgive right away. You can forgive in stages if you want to. And I think Louis is well aware that your trust needs to be earned back, you just need to give him the chance if you wish.
Magdalena: I...sort of wanted to that night...He looked so apologetic...but I don't want to be taken for granted again.
Minerva: You will do what is right for you Maggie. Remember this, Louis will be playing by your rules if you decide to let him back into your life. After all, it has been 3 years and people change.
Magdalena: I guess...he's probably grown up a bit..
Minerva [chuckling]: Give him some credit, his brain is now fully developed [Magdalena giggles]
Nicholas: Mins, do we have the number for the Scottish Embassy? I think a Prince of theirs is missing-
Magdalena: MAGNUS!
Magdalena: I thought you had to prep for your manuvers!
Magnus: I have a couple of days off before hand cause prep is done and your dad graciously extended the invitation to come see you here.
Magdalena: You cut your hair! And shaved-
Minerva[whispering]: Admit it. You like him.
Nicholas[whispering]: I like seeing Lena happy. He makes her happy.
