Hocus Pocus: Eerie Roots AU
Hello and welcome to my AU that fuses the 1991 show "Eerie Indiana" and the classic 1993 "Hocus Pocus"!

Concept:
Marshall and Max Dennison are the same character, causing the main Hocus Pocus movie plot to shift. Being played by the same actor, Omri Katz, the two characters don't only look the same, but the mysterious thriller plots they're set in are also super similar in style and writing! I really wanted to see if there was a fluid way to combine the two into it's own AU, seeing as there isn't a lot of fan-content, let alone AUs or fanfics, for either Eerie Indiana OR Hocus Pocus.
⛧°。 ⋆ 🕯༻⛧°。 ⋆ 🕯༻⛧°。 ⋆ 🕯༻⛧°。 ⋆ 🕯༻⛧°。 ⋆ 🕯༻⛧°。 ⋆ 🕯༻Marshall "Max" Dennison:
- Instead of Marshall being the son of Merilyn Teller, his mom is instead named Jenny Teller (the Hocus Pocus mom of Max).
- She eventually gets divorced and remarries with Dave Dennison, ultimately changing her last name from Jenny Teller to Jenny Dennison.
-This remarriage leads to his mom moving from Eerie Indiana to California, where Marshall lives out the rest of his middle school/early highschool years.
-Trying to get away from his "eerie roots" and a bit traumatized from his time in Eerie, Indiana, Marshall decides to start going by the nickname "Max". Marking a new beginning for him and his new, more normal life in California.
-With his mom's remarriage also came his new step-sister, Dani Dennison. Max puts up with her well enough. It makes more sense canonically considering how different the siblings look in the movie, alongside the fact that it makes sense for Max to struggle with accepting he is no longer a single child and explains his behavior in Hocus Pocus towards her a bit more.
-Eventually, Max's dad gets a new job offer, causing his family to move to Salem, Massachusetts. As soon as he arrives he gets an odd sense of Deja Vu, but brushes it off as just his nerves from moving so far.
Hocus Pocus Plot Changes Ensue:
This is a bit more flimsy, as I'm still planning my long-form fic for this AU. Here's some notes so far though
Somehow, through some magical means Eerie Indiana and the happenings of Salem are connected. This could possibly be through some weird, portal-like magic. Utilizing Indiana urban witch legends to connect it to the Sanderson sisters.
Characters like Simon and Dash X would make appearances, aged up to their teens and helping out the main trio of Max, Allison, and Dani.
Binx would definitely have somehow discovered the connection between Eerie and Salem during his 300 years. He possibly could've even gotten a glimpse of a younger Max, back when he was Marshall Teller.
Stopping the Sanderson sisters would be more difficult than it was in the movie. Which is why more characters get involved.
