Aside from his live work performing in the AC/DC Tribute ‘Dirty DC’ over a period of ten years, and previously his own bands, Simon also has written and recorded an extensive amount of instrumental music. His music/guitar career started at the age of 15, and by his early 20s he had gained much experience in bands and performing on radio and TV in a hard rock genre, with a guitar style influenced by bands including AC/DC, Free, Queen, Rush, Van Halen, and early Judas Priest. At the age of 22 he undertook a concept symphonic rock album, which was developed into a 'Electric Requiem',in which he substituted the vocal lines of a classical Mass for up to 7 interweaving lead guitars, adding the dynamics of drums, keyboards and orchestral effects. This was to become Part One of ‘Critical Mass'. A later hard rock instrumental production, ‘Jupiter Collision’ featuring more of the riffing' styles of mainstream hard rock, and themed around the meteor hitting that planet in 1994, was to become Part Two. The title 'Critical Mass' is taken from the two ideas. 'Critical Mass' is a full-blown and unique hard rock/classical extravaganza. Simon performs all instruments throughout. Essential and unique rock music.
