Random Favorite Photos: Cycle 2 of Australia’s Next Top Model.

Belinda's situation was pretty shitty but nobody will ever out-unfair Eboni from cycle 2. Belinda missed a shoot but Eboni missed a whole fucking week and received a nice pass to the next week, while everybody else throughout that week was in jeopardy of going home. Madness.

Definitely, Eboni dropping out and then being brought back was frustrating. I understand it must suck from Eboni's perspective, but the show should've done what others do and just offer them a chance to come back for the next Cycle. Much fairer to the other girls. And then I seem to remember Eboni getting treated softly for the rest of the cycle, so judged differently from the rest. I remember being really frustrated at the end of that cycle, and then Simone being robbed before the finale didn't help. Thought I'd at least have my favourite making the end. Really want to see if I can get good quality photos from that cycle, would have a lot to say if I did.

In the actual final 3 given to us, I would most likely have Simone winning rather than the 2 bimbos. I’ve mentioned it before but Simone had by far the best attitude of the entire cycle. She was so professional, thus why she would win a whole bunch of challenges and was the least irritated girls of the bunch. She also had a very interesting look, she reminded me of Jane from ANTM C16, with her square jaw. However, in terms of photos in the first few weeks, she never blew me away, also making her worst shot with that frankly ugly circus shot, which could’ve easily gotten her eliminated. However, she just did a full 180 after that with 2 awesome FCOs, with her bombshell of a shot with the emotions and the subtle yet regal couture farmhouse shoot. She did slug a bit with her decent swimwear and BAD soccer shot, which started a big decline on her. Still, in those weeks, where the toxicity was worse and worse, she still stayed a sane mind and was even the only girl in the group to celebrate Ebony coming back, which was a sweet moment towards the end. However, she would rebounded with her great red dress and ended her time here on a strong note with a great beauty shot. However, my biggest problem with Simone would be how boring she was. Notice on how on a bunch of my rankings (meme ones aside), she would be the shortest passages of the group. With the shots I don’t love, there isn’t much to say, just a eeh and move on. It’s odd, her walk was smooth and confident and again, I loved her personality but she lacked a spark in me in terms of photos. Thus why, out of the original final 2, Simone would be the only one in my actual final 3. She was strongly consistent though bland but had a great showcase everywhere else and it’s a shame she was beaten by the end when she seemed fine to be the winner.

3. Simone’s Emotions

Simone’s seductive challenge may be one of the easier one to do but she still excelled when it came to the assignment. Even with the raised shoulder and lack of neck, she worked it. I love her expression and and the way she pursed her lips to the high heavens. She looks like someone trying to seduce her man back to her by leaning onto the ways and cooing for him. Simone’s shot may be the simplest but seeing her work on set and this photo was a marble to watch!

4. Simone’s Country Couture

Simone’s relaxed approach to this shot makes her shot standout to me more. She made the dress look amazing and despite her stiff arms, the pose works. Her face is also one of the best of the week as well. Her serene determined approach along with the calmness is a great combo. Not much to add, Simone nailed this week and really redeemed herself after her crap start.

2. Simone

Simone just looks badass here.The way the shadow hit her face and how it covers half of it makes the shot looks like a movie still. I love the confident yet curious face coming out. The one eye that pops out here too is great, I love the color of it and the way she allures the viewer into the screen. Her bone structure looks great here as well and her hair tied back is a great look on her. She looks like a deceptive on the hunch for the villain in a 1930s talkie. Out of the final 3 we had, Simone would be my winner. She had the attitude and confidence for the competition, plus her rapid improvement throughout was a delight to watch on screen. However, in terms of photos, she was one of the most boring and forgettable by the end.

Simone went for a more “oh no I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” approach for this shoot and again, it works for me! Her pose is the best of the bunch while her face lets me down. I like how her shot just stands out here and the wildness of her pose really makes your eyes just go around the photo. The kick of the leg up along with the protective way she’s hiding herself away from the camera makes for a great contrast for the shot and unlike Jessica, she was able to keep all her limbs in tack while looking her height. Her face is my biggest issue with the shot though. She looks fearful in her expression, plus the pain in her eyes really show here. Despite all that, Simone was an easy lock for my top 3 due to her rapid improvement and professional behavior throughout the entire cycle.

All the shots in my bottom 4 are laughably bad so there’s not much to say. Simone’s face is one of the worst she’s ever made. She looks like she’s about to sneeze and the attempt to look confident looks more like she’s sniffing a bad fart and is trying not to react too much. I guess I can give her credit for her more confident pose but again, it feels so hesitant and scared here. I do like the leg twist though. Simone’s shot is the worst she made in a damn while.
