Synopsis
I fell in love with Tsunami in the early 90s, when I saw them with Jesus Lizard at City Gardens. They had so many hooks and the right blend of attitude and fun that it all just dwelled. This first 7″ of theirs captures all of that succinctly in 5 raucous rock n roll songs. Driving drums along with loud aggressive guitars with vocals that range from soft and flowing to loud and in your face. If you like that old DC post hardcore sound...get it!
The cover for as much as I like the music, kinda irks me. It does stay in line with most other Tsunami releases, but the band name really needs to stand out more and the cover needs to give you little more of a clue as to what you are listening to. Sadly in certain record stores around the country, this 7″ languishes, and frankly thats insulting. I suspect that the vagueness of the cover may have something to do with that.
