*******
Laurent and Larry stood at the door step, “Clear!" a woman in all blue placed two electrical plates to her chest. “Bébé" Laurent called out to her, his feet moving on its own he could feel his brothers presence behind him. They called out to her, ignoring the people that hollered “Get those two out of here!" Her eyes were half opened and there was so much blood, her body was there lifeless. Larry stuttered out her name as he neared her, Laurent had dropped to the floor, many doctors were trying their best to revive her - the tears stung at his cheeks. How could this be? She should be alive right now!
A pair of hands grasped onto Laurent’s shoulders helping him to stand from the floor. “Bring her back.!" Larry yelled Laurent turned his head to look at his brother tussling with three other doctors, his eyes glossed only focused on the lifeless woman on the bed. She was gone. The pair of hands gripped tighter on Laurent’s shoulders pulling him, Laurent’s body kept trying to move closer to her - his arms reaching out to her. Before everything could be processed, Laurent and Larry were outside in the hallway, the brown door had been closed on their faces. Accompanied by two doctors that blocked the door - Both Larry and Laurent stood side by side, Laurent turned to Larry whom quieted down, tears running down his cheeks as he gaped at the closed door. He was in shock, in disbelief - the worst dream hes ever been in. Laurent embraced his twin, his arms wrapping around him. “Please……God.."
The two doctors told the boys that they would have to wait in the waiting room, in order for doctors to come and go. Weakly they walked embraced into each other - before they had hit the corner to turn and go inside the open space, Laughter and conversation could be heard. The voices were all too familiar, how did they know? When they finally turned the corner, in the waiting was her mother, their mother, her bestfriends and a few of the boys friends from their crew and ‘Team’. The laughs and conversations died down when everyone caught sight of the twins.
"How is my daughter?" Laurent broke down under Larry, bringing them both down to the floor.
"Gone.." Laurent sobbed.
"W-What?!" one of her best friends questioned.
"She’s dead !!!" Larry yelled in general, anger and sorrow mixed in his voice, almost immediately everyone in the room began to go crazy. Yells and cries filled the room. “The baby?! What about the baby?!" The twins mother questioned in French, there was no answer, they didn’t know anything about the kid. Now they were even more worried. The hours felt like days in the waiting room until one doctor walked into the mist of grieving people.
"Mr. Bourgeois" He called searching around the room for one man with that last name, both Larry and Laurent stepped forward, for a second the doctor was confused until he quickly figured out this “situation"… it was one of those cases he thought to himself. " Bourgeois’s" he repeated their last names, he noticed how tall the two were and how they towered over him since he was shorter in stature. “I-Im sorry for your lost-"
"OH GOD!" A female voice in the back round screamed but it didn’t stop the doctor to continue what he was going to say, “S-shes alive but your baby….I’m sorry, she didn’t make it…" Larry and Laurent’s face turned stone cold after hearing the news, “what do you mean?" Laurent spoke up.
"Your wife… is alive but your baby - we could not save." Laurent stumbled backwards, this couldn’t be real. The doctors eyes went back and forth between Larry and Laurent as he continued with more information - “Uhrm… we’ve done some test’s on her as well and there is a chance that she may never have children again."
"Let us see her…." One twin spoke, the doctor faintly smiled before speaking once more, “Follow me.." Everyone in the waiting wanted to see her aswell, to know she was doing well but they all knew the boys were the ones that needed to see her most, even their mothers knew that. The boys followed behind the doctor, walking down the cream colored hallways embracing each other. When the doctor finally stopped in his tracks, the twins did as well, he pushed open the wooden door stepping aside so the boys can walk in. They stepped inside, she was there…..alive. Her breathing was steady, eyes were closed and she looked so pale. Both Larry and Laurent got on their knees next to her bedside, taking hold of her hand, neither twin wanted to go around the bed to take hold of her other hand, it wasnt out of laziness it was the fear that set in, believing that if they were to even stand and do something as simple as go around the bed… the EKG would go flat or one of them may faint. Instead they took hold of the only hand that was infront of them and held it… “Bébé" Larry sobbed, “We’ll get through this Larry… We’ll get through this together…the three of us. " Laurent stated in French before placing a gentle kiss on the back of her hand. “Your right Laurent, together"
