Hi
I have more DnD/Carbon2185 rambles, this time about maps! Not under the cut this time because EXCITED
I’ve been running a out of the box campaign. My PC’s got to level3 and the next out of the box quest was like recommended for PC’s either 1 or 4. So I came up with a side quest for them. They are looking for a missing person, in a bit of a rough town in the badlands. They are very close to finding the missing person, they are been held captive at a fairly large estate.
I’ve been making very goofy looking maps using roll20 and just like hand drawing them. My brain has been going how the heck am I going to draw a 2story house and show them all they need to know. And in general just to make maps better quality in the future. I’ve been looking at map tools and all sorts but most of the ones I found were heavily fantasy based. As Carbon2185 is NOT fantasy and is set in the future it makes it a little more tricky. They were also a lil expensive for me atm.
Then.. I had a light bulb moment! What grid based system do I already have? What system have I ALREADY spent hundreds of dollars on.. The sims! Bonuses to this:
There is THOUSANDS of pre-built maps (houses/castles/w.e you want) on the gallery!
If its a dungeon crawl you can just use the basement tool cause there's no terrain for them to like need to see.
If it’s not available in game there is so many amazing mods that most likely have exactly what you want XD.
I tested it out taking just a top down view of Oasis Springs park. This is what it looks like in roll20:
Also minor bonus is I can now post more speedbuilds on my channel XD. Because I can just record and speed up my battle map building. It’s a two for one! DOUBLE PRODUCTIVE
