More nostalgia; this one came up as a memory from several years back when I did an article for the Abbey Medieval Festival about the birds of prey I had there for a couple of years. This particular photo (sorry, no idea who took it, I think it was a newspaper photo?) was taken during the first ever show we did incorporating a historic mounted falconry display accompanied by hounds (not pictured). My old warhorse Ares was a champion, he didn’t even bat an eyelid at the birds. As far as I was aware no one had done this at a public event. Man, we blazed some trails and ruffled some feathers, none of which were our birds! The crowd loved it, the organisers loved it and that’s all that matters.
