Sister Jean (1919–2025): A Life of Faith, Joy, and Purpose 🌟
Loyola-Chicago’s beloved chaplain, Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, has passed away at the age of 106.
From classrooms to courtside prayers, she spent her life uplifting others with faith, humor, and compassion. She became a national icon during Loyola’s 2018 Final Four run — not just for her team spirit, but for her radiant optimism and wisdom that inspired millions.
Even past 100, Sister Jean remained active, writing “Wake Up with Purpose” and continuing to mentor students and fans alike.
Her message was simple but powerful: “We’re never too old to dream, to serve, or to love.”
💔 Rest in peace, Sister Jean — your light will keep shining. ✨
