@mtchstck : “You scared the shit out of me. I’m never going to stop hugging you.”
things took a very drastic turn, causing the two sisters to get separated. it’s been a loooooong few days and jami had more unwillingly than willingly traveled quite the way. something she was more or less used to. it wasn’t the most pleasant adventure she’s had so far but it was still pretty exciting. seeing liv again so soon was unexpected but most definitely not unwelcome. jami was mostly unharmed, her clothes a little dirtier and more ripped than before. arms wrap around the older girl within seconds, bright grin immediately on her features. overjoyed to see her. “ ey, you know it ain’t my fault ! i didn’t do nothin’ ! ”
i will never get tired of drawing them
everyone shut up twinkduo is alive and well AND THEYRE BEST FRIENDS AND GIGGLE ON CALL TOGETHER STILL AND FACETIME AND!!!!!!!!
@heldgirl sent: sometimes i think i can gain control by doing everything right. / accepting.
she likes to think she’s not so useless anymore. sure, what she’s been able to figure out how to do is nothing even remotely close to what amber can do, but she can hold her own, now. or at least something close to it. most importantly, she's acclimatised enough that they don’t need to be constantly babysitting her any time anything even slightly dangerous happens — and she’s even been able to take a few people out herself, which ... well, she’s got some pretty conflicting feelings about that one, but she thinks it’s technically a good thing.
it's gotten to the point where she doesn't feel like too massive of a weight holding amber back — and like she almost might be able to help her one day — and that's more than she could ever ask for at this point.
there's one thing she still feels entirely hopeless at, though : getting amber to open up even a little is such a herculean task, it makes the memories of her late night talks with lauren seem like a breeze in comparison. but the burden on her shoulders is so heavy mina swears she could see it if she squinted enough. every time she looks at the younger girl ( because oh my god, she's so young — and she was even younger when all of this started, which is something mina can't think about for too long without anger starting to bleed hot into her chest ), it's almost enough to take her breath away.
