“The most disrespected person in America is the Black woman” Malcom X | The impact of this statement is something I’ve experienced countless times. As women of color there are constant (painful) messages and social cues that demonize, sexualize, and ostracize us for simply being who we are. Trying to fit into the neat little box to appeal to others became a tireless, annoying, & (I soon realized) POINTLESS endeavor. I let go of the idea that I have to look or act a certain way. I realized who’s for me is for me, and that my tribe and I would supernaturally find each other. I celebrate and encourage women to just be themselves, just be authentic. At the end of the day, who else can you be but you? If you don’t see yourself where you’re trying to go, put yourself in that place—just as you are. You have no idea how many people will feel inspired, capable, and motivated simply because they finally saw someone like them at the table. 🌻 || ————————#sitatthetable #lifecoachforwomen #bossbabe #bizbabe #blackcreatives #blackentrepreneurs #christiancoach #christiancreatives #supportblackbusinesses #heythrivegirl #womanonamission #womenofimpact https://www.instagram.com/ashamariebethea/p/Bxc7QERgH3y/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=11zr8f8b7r3ud
