I know I’ve talked before about the concept of the Curse being purely psychosomatic, manifested by the Aquato’s own psychic powers, but as interesting as that concept is, it’s not likely. Lazarus had seven more kids besides Augustus, with a non-psychic woman. Non-psychic father, non-psychic kids, all dead within one year of the tank incident.

While the actual formation of the hand might be the manifestation of a psychic’s fears, the curse itself sure isn’t.
