ykw with keiji eventually realizing the corruption of police and his memories of a local officer being so kind to him when he was young i really respect him. he idolized these people who were nice to him and realized that there is more than meets the eye to things like that. that true justice isnt about the law, that its about doing whats right. ive made mistakes that hurt people and i get how that can entirely ruin a person. he wants to make things right but when you fuck up so badly that nothing can fix your mistakes you dont know how to forgive yourself. you can try to help people, and get revenge on the people you blame. but the feeling of hurting another person due to mindless obedience never really goes away, it never gets better. in the first trial he thought that seeing the person who let him get away with the thing he felt worst about would fix things, but it only makes it worse. so he tries to make up for everything by being a better person but its so hard since he became so cynical in believing that everybody else is inherently selfish and also becoming distrustful of others.
