Up and Coming Artist Releases New Album (CMAT 240)

Releasing his new album "See About A Dream" in late March, singer and songwriter Terence Ryan has pleased his fans once again with his profound lyrical talent backed by his commanding composition of music.

His new album contains eight songs including  "New Hope," "Sleep Talk," "Leaving Abbadon," "Pick Pocket," "Silhouette Me," "Disappearing," "Mind on Monday," and "No More Sound"  all of which are about a myriad of topics concerning various emotions that humans experience throughout life. He incorporates piano, guitar, and other instruments with the likes of rap-based beats to establish and maintain his rhythmic pattern that makes his music very entrancing and enjoyable for listeners.

Ryan is no stranger to producing his own quality music. All songs he puts out are written, recorded, and produced by himself. One critic feels that Terence Ryan is something to be desired in today's manifesting music industry. "The fact that he handles all aspects of his music from production to writing to the vocals themselves is worth your respect alone" he said. "On his new album, I’m getting the vibe that he’s really honed his efforts on the production side; every track is intricately crafted." 

A Massachusetts native, Ryan started off his music career by releasing "The Other Side" with hit songs like "The Same Name" and "Pilot Sky Life." As the years progressed he produced more hit songs including "Alan's Right," a song incorporating the lectures of Alan Watts - taking listeners on a deep, emotional journey. The single was included on his second album called "Skeleton." Some of the songs on his second album were remixed to songs produced by other artists. One song "Starry Eyed" is Ryan singing with the song Starry Eyed by Ellie Goulding, another song called "To The Fall" uses Bang Gang's "It's Alright" as the chorus and him incorporating his own verses. Nonetheless "Skeleton" was a huge success with his fans and left them yearning for more material.

"See About A Dream" was the album fans were looking for. Ryan took his musical talents to a higher level and produced songs for all of his following to enjoy. Terence Ryan is an up and coming artist that puts an extensive amount of time and effort into his music, and sings about many topics that humans face each day. Skeleton EP, Terence Ryan

Terence Ryan: You are quickly becoming my new favorite person.

After my completely deserved, over-the-moon review of "Alan's Right" earlier this week, I downloaded his new Skeleton EP the moment it was released yesterday; I took my time listening to each track, and after giving it a solid 3 or 4 go arounds, I can easily say this is one of the best projects we will see in 2012 from a newcomer; Mainly because, this is presented on such a level that you'd think this kid is a seasoned veteran.

The entire EP flows from one track to the next, creating a cohesive sound, and an edgy & serious tone that reflects each track's power; Like "Alan's Right", each song was written, produced, recorded, and engineered by this 19 year old Massachusetts native - an incredible achievement when it results in quality songs like this.

You'll find hip hop, indie, pop, and what I consider to be "Irish" musical elements incorporated throughout this sound track, keeping you completely involved in each new sound that sings along with his lyrics; He reminds me of a combination of M83, OnCue, and his own special quality, all wrapped up in a ball of talent.

"What is the feeling?"

Today I got to enjoy one of those moments where I stopped everything I was doing to see who I was listening to.

Terence Ryan? Why did that sound familiar? Who the hell is this kid?

Terence Ryan. T. Ryan. "That July." AHA. Got it, people, one of the first posts we ever wrote.

Terence Ryan proudly represents the south shore, a few towns over from mine outside of Boston; And like a lot of artists who are repping Mass these days (Sammy Adams, Aer, The Dean's List), this rising hip hop talent contributes to my belief that Boston is once again becoming a legitimate contender as a musical hub.

"Alan's Right" cannot simply be categorized as hip hop because Terence beautifully incorporates strings, with a flowing, soulful production that allude to some indie roots. The track was written, produced, and engineered by this young musician, who then grabbed Ryan Sheetz Media to illustrate it in the most impressive way possible; The professionalism portrayed through the video screams "look at how talented I am" in an impressively understated way - quite honestly leaving me wanting more.
