[CeezWorld Music] Exclusive: DJ YRS Jerzy - #CWMuzik Interview
DJ-YRS-Jerzy CWMuzik had the opportunity to catch up with a up and coming visionary and business man who builds brands DJ YRS Jerzy () for an exclusive interview. CW: How long have you been in the industry and how did you get started in the first place? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I have really been in the industry for 3 years i learned a lot during that period of time and I learn more everyday. I really started taking things serious when i was about 17 i knew i had what it took to make it big and now seeing where i will be headed soon all the work was worth it. I wanted to make a name for my self back then i was hosting mixtapes and getting my buzz up online. Now i don't really focus on mixtapes i have bigger business ventures I'm apart of. CW: Who were the first influences on your music and style? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I'm influenced by almost everyone that made it big in this business the main people i would say is Jay-Z, Diddy, Drama , Funk Flex etc. I feel like I'm working just like they were when they were on the come up and i know my time to break into the music industry is coming soon. My style is chill and laid back i just like to get things done and keep getting better. CW: Where can we purchase/download your music? DJ YRNS Jerzy: You can get the current single "TwitterPated" on iTunes, Spotify, Rhapsody, Google Play, Amazon etc. basically any where you can buy/stream music. TwitterPated is also featured on Xbox Music and on Play station Networks. I have another single dropping July 15th titled "Guiding Light" featuring Plex Long and my artist Chox-Mak which will be available in iTunes. You can always check out my sound cloud as well look me up "DJ YRS Jerzy" to find free music. CW: What is the best piece of advice in this business you've received thus far? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I Learned a lot from my mentor Q The Question who is the Co-Owner of the indie label I'm with SKE Records. He lets me know what i need to be doing and doesn't sugar coat anything (laughs). He is someone i really needed to help take my career to the next level. Q always tells me to learn about the business side of this industry and that's exactly what I've been doing. I salute Q The Question for all the help he's been with helping me make it to the top if this game. CW: Can you name some other artists you listen to? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I listen to a lot of my artist Chox-Mak i like to hear him do better and better with every track he drops. We have a lot in the works and plenty more tracks to drop. I listen to a lot of old school hip hop i don't really care for much that's out right now. But, i will say i listen to a lot of Ab-soul, Vado and anyone with quality music. I'm now starting to listen to different genres of music that i feel is dope as well. CW: Who would you like to collaborate with? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I would like to collaborate with a mixture of people from Chvrches, Pharell, Miley Cyrus Jay-Z and any one who is really making a impact on music. There are so many people out here that are undiscovered also i just want to work with anyone that takes their craft serious. CW: Name some likes/dislikes about the current state of Hip Hop? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I like that Hip Hop is branching out everywhere and it has reached places that no one would have expected it to. Hip Hop is my favorite genre of music and i like the way Hip Hop changed so many peoples life styles and made them who they are today. I dislike that there really isn't any real lyricism being pushed right now i don't want it to get out of hand and artists just say anything with a good beat behind it and call it music. There has to be some type of balance i like party music but let's not forget that HIP HOP is about lyricism and telling a story. CW: What's your favorite thing to do when you aren't working on music? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I just like to chill be in my own zone and make things happen. I do a little bit of everything from video games and any thing that's fun to do to take my mind off of music for a while. Mostly i have been just working everyday and night to make my dreams reality. Haven't had much down time but when everything takes off i will take a couple vacations and just relax. CW: If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I would have to say EDM/Pop i like how their markets are always growing and at rapid rates. I'm actually working with a couple big artists out of LA soon. I won't announce anything until it's official but i will definitely have big things planned. CW: Where did you grow up? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I grew up in Jersey City, NJ i lived all around that area and now currently living in Charlotte,NC. New Jersey will always be my real home and one day i will probably move the fam back out there. CW: What schools did you attend? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I went to a couple good schools and not so good schools (laughs) i always got along with people at every school i went to. CW: Tell us something about any projects and ideas you have in store or are already working on. DJ YRNS Jerzy: There are a lot of projects in the works with different artists that i have coming up like i said before i have a track dropping with Plex Long and my artist Chox-Mak titled "Guiding Light". Be on the look out for that track dropping really soon. CW: In closing, is there anybody you want to shout out? DJ YRNS Jerzy: I want to give a shout out to everyone that is on their grind making it happen!
