In a skip down the road from here, someone has chucked an entire roof’s worth of slate tiles. By the age of the house, it’s likely English slate. Unbelievable that someone would consider this rubbish. I took a number of 10 by 14 inch tiles in perfect condition - plenty of use around the house. Hope that more people see the potential and don’t let it go to waste.

copy of microsoft encarta 1994 i found by climbing into a skip and digging around.. probably one of my best skip finds. i had an entire year where i would obsessively steal wood from skips bc my flatmate had a saw and power drill and i needed furniture. in the end i only built a desk and found the rest of my furniture on the street lol.. the desk is way too low for me to sit comfortably at bc i did not understand ergonomics when i made it

i also found a bunch of old game manuals which i'll probably sort through and post the best parts onhere later.. ANYTHING 4 content..

Found some flowers in a florist skip

Found a bible from 1825 in a skip near my flat in Cheltenham! Bought by a John Graves in Kent in 1827 who gave it to presumably his daughter Ada Graves. The names of two other of his children (Charles born 1833 and Mary 1835) are in the back cover, along with a newspaper cutting about the death of a Alice Baxter in Lincolnshire. She had a throat problem so was advised to only consume milk but ate an eel pie, which irritated her throat and she died (?? anaphylaxis). What an interesting find!
