okay I'm a different anon but I think the katara+wwx=same anon was onto something: both witness a guardian's murder; communities nearly destroyed by war; can control other ppl's bodies; secret identity (painted lady/mxy); falls in love with a pillar of virtue and goodness; family-focused; prodigies in their field; rejected by peers for dumb reasons (sexism/classism+necromancy). the main difference is that katara has at least a B+ in self-care and wwx never found the classroom
