He comes up behind you on the night you're all leaving Manila, when you're leaning over the window of your hotel room looking at the people still bustling below, and puts his arms around you.

“You alright?” he asks, resting his chin on your shoulder. “Talk to me.”

Instead of talking you turn around to face him, and his hands slide down until they go around your hips and you stand on tiptoes as he leans down to kiss you ever so gently. You can feel his heart beating fast under your palms and it makes you realize that it'll be a long time, a long long time, before you can feel it beat for you again.

“I'll miss you,” you say.

“I'll miss you too,” he says back, but there's a look of optimism in his eyes. “Whether or not you're moving to Nashville, we'll make it work, won't we?”

You can only nod before he wraps his arms around you and keeps you warm and safe from the chill of the night.

A Skolton Story- Part 7

Ok well here it is FINALLY sorry i wrote it up in school one day but never had the time to actually post it.

"Whoa" thought Colton as he sits up in his bed. He had a dream last night that it was just a normal day with his friends. Then Skylar appears and drags him into another room. For some reason in his dream he was afraid of her. He knows he has feelings for her in real life but in this dream all he could think of was getting away from her. He ran over to the door but it was locked. He is deathly afraid now and turns around to face her. There is something different about her, but he cant think of what it is. She smiles an almost evil smile then starts to slowly walk towards him. He starts backing up slowly. "Kiss me" she says with the same evil smile. Colton's back is now flat up against the wall. "I-I cant" he stutters and shrinks away. He cant do anything but stand there until and wait to think of something. "Maybe someone will hear me if i pound on the door" he thinks. He turns to the door and starts pounding on it. "Help!" he yells but she just replies "no one can hear you." She finally gets to him and says "well, if you wont kiss me, then i guess you will never make it out." She pushes him onto the floor and he wakes up with a gasp. He feels his hands shaking and wondered why he had such a strange dream with a girl he really likes. He gets out of bed and checks his phone. There is a text from Skylar saying "Hey :) what do u want want to do today?" He gets a weird feeling in his stomach and hopes that his dream wont affect his feelings towards her. He had just kissed her on the bus in front of everyone the other day. So, now he has two things to worry about. He then received a text from Heejun saying "Hey, you should come over today, you can bring Skylar only if u two promise not to have make out sessions." He sighs because he knows that his friends are going to be making fun of him for a while. And also if Heejun was inviting him, then he was probably inviting Phillip too, and he couldn't take that much sarcasm, atleast not today. He decided he wanted to be with Skylar so he texted her back "You wanna come over in about an hour?" He then texted Heejun that he was not coming. About an hour later he heard a knock at the door. He opened it and it was Skylar- with Heejun and Phillip.

"Hey... what are you guys doing here? I only invited Skylar over." 

"Well, we knew you were going to invite her since you werent coming over to my place, so we decided to come here."

Colton whispered something into Skylar's ear and they both ran out of the hotel room leaving Heejun and Phillip there. 

"Well I guess we have the place all to our selves" they laugh. Colton and Skylar go down to her hotel room. She unlocks the door and they go in. He sits on her bed while she cleans up a bit. 

"Hey Skylar..." he says. "I... uh... had a dream about you last night." 

"Oh really?" she smiles, "what about?"

"Well that's my little secret" he says with a grin. 

"Come on Colton! tell me" she demands. 

"Well... I suppose i could be convinced" he grins again. 

"Oh, I see... well then" she walks over and sits down next to him. "What did you have in mind?" she says. 

"I think you know" and they both press their lips together. She pulls away quickly and says "that's all you get until you tell me." 

"On no, little more" he smirks. She pushes him over. 

"Fine! don't tell me, but your not gettin' anymore of..." He presses his lips to her's again and they both sit there enjoying the moment.

Lake House- Part 12- Jollie, JayAndre & Skolton

Jessica's POV

Schyler and Baylie left the next day, and they took all the drama with them. It was probably a good thing they left because of all the tension whenever we would all be together. After they left we went out and sat on the back porch facing the ocean and I reached over and grabbed DeAndre’s hand. He smiled at me and gave it a squeeze. Then Colton spoke up "You know what we never did guys?" he asks with a smile. Everyone shakes their head and he smiles even wider "We never went 4-wheeling like I said we would!" he exclaimed and looked at Skylar. She broke into a hug smile "Let's go!" she said immediately jumping up. I looked at DeAndre and rolled my eyes with a smile. We all get up and make our way over to the garage with the 4-wheelers. We walk into the huge garage and see an army of 4-wheelers. I lead DeAndre over to a pretty blue one and he gets on, then a sit behind him. "Do you have any idea how to drive this thing?" I ask tightening my hold around him. "Not really" he says with a shrug and I let out a nervous laugh. “I think I know enough not to kill us though” he says trying to be reassuring. “Oh that makes me feel sooooo much better” I say holding on tighter to him.

Skylar’s POV

I see the 4-wheelers and smile at the hot pink one in the back. I grab Colton's hand and we pull over to it. He gets on first and grabs the handle bars, he looks back at me and I give him a look. "You really think I'm gonna let you drive?" I ask with a smile and he rolls his eyes. “Go ahead!” he says and scoots back. “Thank you!” I say and jump on. "Now I know you might still be mad about yesterday but please don't kill me!" Colton says jokingly. I laugh and he wraps his arms around me and scoots against me. I feel a tingling sensation surge through my body but I ignore it and grab the handlebars "don't worry Colty" I say mocking the nickname Baylie gave him. He laughs and I pull out of the garage. I drive around the yard for a while to get used to driving this 4-wheeler. "Go that way" Colton says close to my ear and his breathe tickles my face. He points to the forest and I smile at him. "We should probably wait for the others or else they'll never catch up" I say. We look back and see everyone still in the garage. “We probably should have told everyone how to drive these” He says. “Probably” I agree and laugh.

  Josh's POV

"So do you have any idea how to work one of these?" I ask and look at Hollie then back at the 4-wheeler. "Nope" she says and we stand there starring at it. I shrug "Me neither" I say with a small laugh. "Maybe we should start by getting on" she suggests. I get on and she climbs on behind me. I stare at all the buttons on the handle bars and try to read the worn off words. "Oh just start hitting them!" Hollie says with a laugh after a while. I smile at her and do what she says. The first one I hit doesn’t do anything “Well looks like it’s not that one” I say hitting another button causing the horn to go off loudly. “Ahhh” Hollie shrieks jumping at the noise. “Not that one!” she says. I hit another one and the 4-wheeler jerks to life. “Found it!” I say happily and Hollie wraps her arms around me and we start going forward.

  DeAndre’s POV

We meet up with Skylar and Colton in the yard and wait for Josh and Hollie. I turn around and laugh when I see them jerk forwards towards us. "Maybe someone should have told them how to work that" I say with a smile and I feel Jessica laugh against me. They slowly make their way over to us and Colton's directs us to go into the forest. We race to the forest and of course Skylar and Colton beat us so we follow them around the forest for hours. We are having a blast when I hit a bump in the path and fly off the 4-wheeler. I grunt when Jessica flies off and lands on me. "Ow" I manage to say. She smiles and laughs I reach up and brush a strand of hair out of her face. "Okay lovebirds" Colton interrupts us "get back on the atv because it looks like it’s gonna start storming" he says and I look up at the sky. I see dark clouds in the distance slowly coming closer to us, only then do I realize that the temperature has dropped probably fifteen degrees since we left. I get up and then reach down and help Jessica up. "We should probably head back then" I say.

    Hollie’s POV

"Yeah about that..." Colton says looking away and rubbing the back of his neck. "Colton Dixon!" Skylar yells "do not tell me that we're lost!" she continues and he nervously looks around. "I'm sorry guys! You know I'm directionally challenged! I was planning to just stay on the edge of the forest but then we got carried away!" he said exasperated. "That’s okay Colton” I say “we'll find our way back. At least it's not raining!" I say and look up just as a raindrop hits me in the face. I give a nervous laugh and look around at their faces "at least it's not-" I start saying but Josh's hand flies up and covers my mouth. "Don’t jinx anything else" he says with a small smile. "We should probably try to retrace our steps as best we could" Skylar says and we slowly turn around and make out way back the way we came. It starts raining harder and I shiver. I wrap my arms tighter around Josh trying to absorb his warmth. We stop at a fork in the path and we all look at each other. We step off the 4-wheelers and josh puts his arm around my shoulder. "Does anyone recognize either path?" DeAndre asks hopefully and no one says anything. The rain increases its intensity and thunder rings in the air; I clutch onto josh tighter.

  Colton’s POV

“Why don’t Colton and I go look down this path and see if we recognize it” Skylar suggests yelling over the rain. “Is that really such a good idea?” Hollie asks over the noise. “What else can we do?” Skylar asks. “I don’t know” Hollie sighs and Skylar grabs my hand. We get back on the 4-wheeler and Skylar yells back to them “Don’t leave this spot!” I grab tighter onto her and we make our way slowly down one of the paths. Soon the rain is coming down so hard we can’t even see 2 feet in front of us. “Let’s wait out this rain!” I yell to Skylar and she stops the 4-wheeler. We get off and try to find some cover from the rain. We settle beneath a thick tree and Skylar shivers. I start un-zipping my jacket but she puts her hand on mine “Don’t try to be chivalrous, you’ll freeze to death” she says and I nod my head. I put my arms around her and pull her close. “It’s so cold” She whispers pulling herself into a ball. I suddenly have an idea; I reach down and put my hand underneath her chin. I pull her face up towards mine and connect our lips. Our lips move against each other’s and I feel my body start to heat up. She reaches up and tangles her hand in my hair; I feel my blood start pumping faster through my body. I pull away for a second “kissing raises your body temperature” I whisper with a smile.

Skolton when he puts his head on her shoulder.

I know this isn't what really happened. But I like to think that this happened.

Ten people. All of them flocking towards their fans with much love and care. Talking, squealing, excitement.

Only one seemed exhausted.

Yes, indeed did Skylar Laine never stopped feeling that same warm joy when she saw people wishing to meet her. But now, everything knocked her out. 

"Cheer up, Sky!" Colton comforts her, and she shoots him a tired, fond look. In return, he hugged her and stayed beside her even if she were slow.

They prepared for the group pictures. The first in line were a set of fraternal twins. 

"Who's your favorite?" Colton asked as they cautiously approached.

"No one." They both replied. "We like all of you."

Skylar couldn't help it. She grinned. "Well, then, cutie pies. Come here and sit on the floor with us."

Both of them jumped and squirmed with vibrant joy as they did so. Then, they looked at their mother's camera.

"Smile!"

Colton looked at the twins in front of him. The boy put his head on the girl's shoulder, and she wrapped an arm around him lovingly. It drove his heart.

He did the same to Skylar. She seemed surprised at the gesture, but put her head on his head, moving closer.

"One...2...3!"

Lessons & Rules- Skolton

A/N: here it is :)))

"Hey Skylar" Colton says nervously walking up to Skylar "So, your kind of a girl, right?" he asks looking at the ground. "Obviously…" Skylar says looking at him confused and waiting for him to continue. “So you know what girls like because you’re a girl, right?” He asks still looking at the ground. “Yes we covered this already Colton…” She said urging him to spit it out. "Do you think you can help me get a girl to go out with me?" he asked fidgeting with the hem of his shirt. "Colton, the entire population of girls is in love with you. All you have to do is look at them and they want to marry you" Skylar says with a laugh. “You got anyone in mind?” She asks nudging his shoulder. "No but I just don't know how to talk to girls or anything like that" he says finally looking at her. "Well, you can talk to me and I'm 'kind of a girl'" She told him putting air quotes around Colton’s phrasing from earlier. He gave her a small smile "That's cause you're... I don’t know… You!" he says as if that was an explanation. "Okay..." she says accepting it for now. "So will you help me?" he asks her hopefully. "Of course!" she says with a smile. Colton smiles back at her and reaches out towards her. He pulls her into a tight hug and she hugs him back and smiled. Then all of a sudden they realize what they were doing and quickly break apart. "See you tomorrow." Skylar says quickly before getting up and walking to her room.

-The next day-

  "So, first on the agenda is your look" she said glancing up and down at his clothes. "What's wrong with my look?" he asks examining himself. "Nothing much, just some minor adjustments" she says thinking. "First things first" she said with a mischievous smile "The hair." He quickly backs away from her "uh-uh! No way! You are not touching my hair!" he shrieks his hands covering his hair. Skylar reaches up to pull his hands away but he backs further away. "Do you want me to help you or not?" she asked crossing her arms. "Fine..." Colton said with a sigh "as long as you don't cut it!" She smiles at his over-protectiveness about his hair "fine, I won't cut it" she says and steps closer to him. "So if you ever get a girl and that girl kisses you, they like something to run their hand through" she says reaching up and touching his brown hair that was gelled and hair-sprayed straight up. She laughs when she feels how stiff it is, and tries to pull her hand through it to loosen it up a little.  It doesn’t work so she leads him into the bathroom and sits him on the toilet. "Rule number one- less hairspray" she says reaching for the brush on the sink. She starts brushing his hair and eventually gets all his hair forwards onto his forehead. She smiles at her handy-work and runs her hand through, he smiles at the feeling. "You look amazing!" Skylar squeals reaching her hand down towards him. He grabs it and pulls himself up; keeping a hold of her hand, he walks over to the mirror. "Wow" he gasps "I love it!" he says excitedly. He puts his arms around Skylar and pulls her into a hug. "Thank you!" he says and she puts her arms around his neck. "Ow!" she shrieks when the spikes on his shoulder poke her arm. "Rule number two- No more spikes" she says pointing to his shoulder. "Got it!" he said with a laugh. She smiles and looks at his hair again, "How do you feel about dying it?" She asks curiously. He shakes his head and covers his hair with his hands "No!" he says firmly. Skylar gave him her best puppy dog face and put her hands on his arms. "Pleaseeeee" she asks quivering her bottom lip. He sighs and looks away "Fine… What color were you thinking?" he asks and she burst into a smile.

  “Dating lesson number one” Skylar said later that day “An ideal first date is to the movies” She finished and he looked at her confused. “Because it’s a very uncomplicated date, there’s no room for awkward silences and you can’t have a bad time if you’re seeing a good movie” Skylar explained. “Got it” Colton nodded and told her. “Now we’re gonna to go practice what to do when you’re there” She said with a smile. “Does this have anything to do with that new movie you’ve been begging everyone to go see with you?” Colton asks with a knowing smile. “Pshhh, no!” Skylar says with a laugh. “Whatever you say” Colton said playfully punching her shoulder. “Well let’s get going!” Skylar said with a smile, she reached down and grabbed his hand then pulled him out the car.

  “Lesson number two and rule number three- you have to buy the girls ticket” Skylar said with a smile. “I think this whole ‘dating practice’ is just so you can see this new movie and not pay” Colton says handing the cashier the money. “Definitely not!” Skylar said smiling and grabbing both tickets. They walked towards the concession stand and Colton looked over at Skylar “Let me guess, I have to buy the popcorn?” He said. “Now you’re catching on” Skylar said patting his back. They got the popcorn and went to sit down. “Rule number four- don’t put the move on to early, that could lead to awkwardness.” Skylar told him. “The move?” Colton asked confused. Skylar gave a fake gasp “You don’t know the move?” she asked and Colton shook his head. “The move! You know when you fake yawn and put your arm around her shoulder!” She said demonstrating the move. “Then you have to do the cliché hand touching in the popcorn thing you see in all chick flicks” Skylar says with a small laugh taking her arm away. Colton smiled at her and then the movie started so they turned their attention towards it. “So the move” Colton said “should I practice?” He whisper-asked her. She involuntarily blushed, “sure” she whispered back. He placed his arm around her shoulder and she leaned into it. They both smiled and continued watching the movie. After a couple minutes they both relaxed and laughed at the movie. Both of them reached for the popcorn at the same time and their hands brushed against each others. They both blushed and looked at each other then they both started laughing loudly. “That would be the cliché hand touch” Skylar pointed out with another small laugh. They enjoyed the rest of the movie and went back out to the car. “So, are you gonna let me dye your hair now?” Skylar asked pulling a box of hair dye out of her pocket. “I guess!” Colton said apprehensively.

    "Now, your hair isn't your best feature but I just improved it 110%" Skylar told him with a smile, washing the last of the dye out. “How blond is it?” Colton asked sounding scared. “Platinum.” Skylar said smiling broadly at the look on his face. He got up and looked in the mirror; he smiled and played with it. "So, what is my best feature then?" Colton asked hesitantly. "What?" Skylar asked looking at him confused. "You said my best feature wasn't my hair, so what is it?" he said looking away from her. "Your eyes" Skylar spat out quickly surprising both of them. They glanced up at each other for a moment and looked away. “Okay, so the final test is for you to go and put on your best outfit” Skylar said breaking the awkward silence.

    Skylar waited in the living room for Colton to finish getting dressed. Ten minutes later Colton opened the door and walked in. Skylar smiled and walked over to Colton; she flattened his collar and looked approvingly at him. "How do you know if a girl wants to kiss you?" Colton asked out of the blue surprising Skylar. She paused a second "Well first she will become quiet and look into your eyes" Skylar explained demonstrating the look. "Then she will glance down at your lips and then back up" she said unconsciously doing just that. "After that" Skylar said quietly "she'll step close to you" she continued and stepped closer to him hesitantly. "And put her arms..." she faded out and put her arms around his neck nervously."And the boy?" Colton whispered, his breath tickling her face. "Put your hands here" she whispered moving her hand down and grabbing his. She brought it up and placed it on her waist, he did the same with the other hand and she put her arm back around his neck. She starred into his eyes and slowly started moving towards him. He did the same until they were almost touching. "I think I know what comes next" Colton whispered starring into her eyes. He closed the distance between them and pressed his lips to hers. She reached up and ran her hand through his hair, giving herself props for getting him to change it. They moved their lips against each other and Colton tightened his hold on her waist. He pulled away for air and Skylar quickly pulled him back to her. Then they pulled away from each other “So I guess you pretty much trained me how to date you” Colton whispered. Skylar laughed and smiled. “Looks like it” she told him.
