An amazing white wine by a great Greek producer. Here is how they describe the wine: “Fermented and aged (70%) in stainless steel vats and 30% in French barriques (50% new and 50% second use) for 6 months. Short skin contact, full malolactic fermentation in barriques and batonnage. Screw cap. Intense but elegant varietal expression with hints of oak. Peach, mango, orange peel, baked bread, freshness.” I had the pleasure to sample the 2010 vintage in the past. Here I found a bright clear medium lemon green color wine. On the nose it is clean with medium+ intensity aromas suggesting of honeysuckle, apple, lime, orange peel, peach, elderflower, and vanilla. Fully developed. On the palate it is dry, with medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol level, medium body and medium+ flavor intensity, displaying honeysuckle, apple, lime, orange peel, peach, elderflower, and vanilla. The juicy fruit is balanced by the zesty acidity and its length is medium. The quality is very good for a well-balanced, rich in concentration and with good complexity wine of medium length. This is a wine that can age for another 5 years and is great with fish and white meat dishes.
