Team Blue headcanons!

Goggles

His real name is John, taking inspiration from the promo character he’s based off of.

Major ADHD. He isn’t diagnosed, but he knows because his dad who also has ADHD saw the symptoms in him.

He’s bi! Both bisexual and biromantic. He later finds out he’s polyamorous because he has a crush on more than one person.

Might be gender-fluid… Hmmmmm

He’s been in a relationship before with this one girl a while back. (His team did not like her very much) Things actually lasted for a while between them, but not too long before the beginning events of the manga followed, she just left him out of nowhere. It busted him up a little at first, especially since the girl said “I just don’t wanna be seen with an idiot anymore”, but he got back on his feet fairly quick thanks to support from his friends and family. And while it also made it slightly more difficult to for him to feel confident in trying to form relationships again, he kept telling himself that the only thing that mattered was that he found someone who would love him for him, through and through.

It still bothered him, though. For the longest time he kinda felt worried about going into another relationship because he was afraid that they would leave him for the same reason his ex did. It’s why it took so long for him to confess his feelings to his crushes

Adopted by octolings—and I don’t mean like adopted by octoling troopers or some wild au plot shit, I mean he was just adopted by a sweet octoling couple who wanted to have kids but struggled in trying to make their own for a little while so they just adopted him. However, years after they adopted him, they eventually tried again and brought two little octoling twin girls into the world! They’re 6 years younger than their inkling brother and they liked to hang around in Inkopolis Plaza by the shops while he participating in turf wars. (They had to conceal their tentacles and hide their eyes because their parents are worried about how they’d be treated by the public) Goggles loves his entire family to pieces 💕

He’s a total mama’s boy. Whenever he’s feeling sad or clueless about anything, she’s the first one he goes to, even if he has to search an entire college campus to find her (she goes to college as an undergrad). She lets him cuddle with her and lean on her shoulder as he gets to vent about whatever’s going on in his life, and he also likes to ask for her advice because she’s pretty smart. Yeah, his dads always there whenever he needs him, and he doesn’t mind dad hugs and advice from his old man, but he and his ma just have that unspoken connection. But her comfort and advice is all under one condition: he has to help her with math homework (she’s confused with the kind of math those damn professors teach. Goggles always knows his way around that stuff somehow.) Plus, whenever she says is law to him; he always listens to her before he listens to dad.

Yeah, he’s seriously good at math for some reason. He’s also pretty good at explaining it comprehensively, too. Also, fun fact, back when he was in elementary, he got a perfect score on his math test that teacher thought he cheated and he was getting investigated by the school for so long until they couldn’t find any evidence that he did cheat. His teacher refused to give him a 100%, so they just gave him like an 80%. Goggles still has dreams over trying to plead his case over his perfect score and it often ends ridiculously before he wakes up. He’s probably never gonna get over it.

It didn’t take that long for him to find out he was adopted, as he know two plus two does not equal triangle. All that mattered to him was the fact that he loved his family and they loved him

Speaking of his family, they had to let Army live with them for a while since he got kicked out by his grandfather (who’s an asshole) and that’s how he and Goggles got closer together. They ended up renting an apartment together in Splatsville for a short time until they both found more permanent options for themselves

He is pretty much as stupid as everyone says he is, but he’s also pretty clever and creative once you get to know him. He gets a little bit street smart as he gets older

He’s the kind of guy to eat the chess pieces when you’re not looking, baffling the smart guy (either Army or Specs)

He’s a really good guy and he’s one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet, but he’s not afraid to rock your shit if it comes down to it. He doesn’t ever like to get into fights and avoids them when he can, but if you push enough of his buttons then you’re leaving with a dislocated beak and a black eye I can guarantee you that

Continuing off of that, bro is BUILT. He curls his bicep and it be pointing to the sky I tell you. It’s shine could take down a plane good grief. He can pick all of his friends up at once and hold them over his head. They call him the brawn’s over brains of the group. He loves to use his strength to pick up his boyfriends 💜🧡💚

You wanna know who his boyfriends are? He’s dating Rider, Army, AND Skull. How did a dumbass score a triple set of Inkopolis elites? He’s just got that ADHD rizz! (I’ll explain the skullamigorai dynamics in a different post)

Stoner. Ever since he turned 18, his parents revealed their secret weed stash and he never went back 😂. His folks are really chill and he smokes with them from time to time. He also like to invite his friends over to hit that za. He only smokes as long as his little sisters aren’t home. It’s so funny when he gets stoned like he just gets up and walks around, giggling. He also loves cuddles very and he’ll either cuddle with his parents or his buddies. If he’s smoking alone then he gets sad because he feels lonely.

He’s really physically affectionate; he hugs literally everyone he knows. He loves picking up his teammates and swinging them around in a hug. Bobble laughs so hard, Headphones giggles adorably, and Specs demands to be put down while failing to suppress his big ol grin. After the battle against the X bloods, Goggle went to surprise hug Vintage, and to everyone’s surprise, Vintage just… got all teary eyed (bro was going through it. He needed that hug)

While I think he would like AJR & Saint Motel’s music, he’s absolutely NUTS for indie music artists. TheLivingTombstone has to be his number one favorite artist. Also Ink Theory and Yoko and the Gold Bazookas

He and Bobble can communicate without having to communicate (it’s telepathic I tell you)

He has this issue with hearing things correctly and often has to get people to repeat themselves when they say something. Often times he misinterprets what they say and responds quite inappropriately, and in turn he makes himself look like a nut head. His friends, parents and sisters understand but he gets a little bummed when other people give him a hard time for it. He can’t help it :(

He also has this volume issue where he ends up speaking too loud or getting excited or wild when he’s talking about something. Sometimes even he realizes he gets WAY too loud and covers his mouth. He also gets a hard time for that, too. Give him a break

If you ask him for a hug he will squeeze you till your bones pop

Great friends with Prinz! He sees him like a little brother. Same as Emperor, except he sees him more as a big brother. Emperor likes to call Goggles his little pogchamp even though he doesn’t know what it means. Goggles loves it

He has a bed in a nook! It’s very cozy

Knows some martial arts like Jiu jitsu, kickboxing and judo, thanks to Army! Although his dad is the reason he does kickboxing. They even have a giant punching bag in the garage!

Specs

His real name is Spencer

Also bisexual and biromantic

The tip of his tentacles are purple in battle because purple is his original ink color

He had a teeny crush on Emperor during the king cup arc, but he thought “naaaah he’s way out of my league” plus, he already had eyes for someone else…

After the ranked battle cup, he and Emperor actually started spending more time together as amigos. Emperor invites him over for tea, Specs would invite him and Prinz over for family dinners—which they always attended—and just enjoyed hanging out with Emperor and Prinz in general. Their mother scares the living hell out of him, but she’s polite to him. Specs’ own parents are intimidated by Emperor and Prince, but quickly grew to like them after they’ve seen how well mannered and friendly they are

He’s had a crush on Headphones for almost his entire life since knowing her. He admires her courage, strength and determination to protect her team. He often had fantasies of her being his knight in shining armor (ooooh~) but he never tried to push it further because he always believed she would never reciprocate his feelings. (Plot twist, she likes him too! Bobble and Goggles are just waiting until they start dating)

He’s definitely done some second hand embarrassing things to try to impress Headphones. Somehow, that made Headphones think: ‘I NEED THIS BOY LOSER EVEN MORE 😫😫😫😫😫’

People often mistake him for being a book smart nerd, when really he’s more of a street smart prep

Dude can cook like a mother. He has recipes of all his mother’s, grandmother’s, and great grandmother’s finest dishes. He also shares some of them with Army in exchange for baking and curry recipes from time to time and they become cooking/baking pals

He’s self conscious about a lot of things, but he does his best to stay determined because he knows his team needs him. He’s not self conscious about his leadership, that’s for sure!

Eats breath mints, why? Because you never know 😁 (they’re also tasty he thinks)

Has a lot of inside jokes relating to Goggles, and vice versa. They insult and call each other everything under the sun and they both find it hilarious. Headphones is concerned and Bobble just shakes her head and laughs

He tried to skateboard once and he fell and nearly broke his ass. He still has that skateboard in his closet, he just fears it

He’s grown up with a lot of sisters in his household, so he’s the most empathetic towards the girls towards a lot of stuff; especially their periods. Sometimes he has some pads or pain pills stored in his locker as backups for the girls, which are usually alongside other medical supplies he keeps just in case of emergencies. It also may or may not be how he found out Aloha was trans… 😂

He’s easily intimidated by anyone. Aloha and Snorkel were playfully teasing him one time in a flirty manner and for some reason his mind registered that they wanted to kill him and hide his body 😭

He got a hit of weed once and he passed out. He vowed he’d never do it again, but every so often you’ll see him in the floor with a blunt in his hand and Goggles teabagging him with full disrespect

He’s an electro swing and jazz fan. Just you wait until he hears electro waltz and he starts kicking his shoes off (Le Monde anybody?)

He knows just a little bit of tap dancing. He’s also taken part of a few one act plays in school. Theater kid at heart he is I know he is.

He was almost inspired to make a manual of his own like Army has. But then he realized it would probably be a little too much.

Academically he is rather smart and he is a pretty good tutor, but he’s only below Headphones and Army in terms of academic intelligence

He definitely lost a spelling bee and never got over it

Emperor got him obsessed with country movies and shows. He loves to binge watch them whenever he can

Omnisexual with a stronger preference for women, but she happened to like the biggest man loser in the world (affectionately)

Her eyes are orange and so is the tip of her tentacles during battle, because orange is her original ink color

She and Specs have spent the most time with each other as kids, and it’s one of the reasons they’re so in love. Everything they do and say is just so common to each other and they can read each other like books.

She really likes sitcoms and romantic comedies. She loves inviting her friends over to watch with her whenever she can. Specs almost always shows up with something for everyone to eat that he cooked from his family cookbook.

She and Specs have kids; Goggles and Bobble

Headphones was surprised when she got to know N Pacer and realized how much of a nerd she was about some things. They grew a lot closer over tea parties, which Skull and Half Rim were invited to.

She always needs sweetener in her tea or coffee. She also likes flavoring in her water. Her favorite flavor of water is mint leaves with frozen peaches

Everyone often thinks she really mature, when really she’s just waiting to get super duper silly (brace yourself amigos)

She’s generally very nice, and somewhat tolerable towards others, but if you piss her off in some way then she’s gonna get you. You can’t run far and you can’t hide. She will absolutely make you an example not to cross her or her team.

Literally whenever one she sees of her teammates down in the dumps or looking hurt, she’s the first to go up to them and ask “are you ok? Did someone do this to? Give me names, I’ll take care of it.”

She loves cosplaying and making outfits for costumes. Comic cons are her havens. She’s one of the reasons Goggles went strutting around as the Snatcher for Halloween while his sisters went as Hat Kid and Bow Kid. She also loves to wear Victorian and medieval century gothic style dresses, especially to tea parties!

Despite loving frilly dresses, she most likely to wear a tuxedo to prom. She just found herself to look so dashing in one (and Specs is certainly not complaining!)

She and Specs went as a knight and shining armor and a Prince. She is very knight coded to me

She had to have a crush on Skull after they fought and defeated his team. But then she found out he was gay and was all like “Drats, I should’ve known!…. Anyways, I’m sure that Goggles is a teeny bit fruity and he’s currently single, so lemme know if you want his number-”

I know she also had to have had a crush on N-Pacer, but it died down when she realized that N-Pacer just appreciated having good friends for once and Headphones didn’t wanna spoil that for her. She did indeed take one good look at Pacer and think ‘HOCHI MAMA’

She likes music by my chemical romance and punk rock in general. She also enjoys jazz, especially modern pop song jazz covers and she likes to dance to them. She’s got a record player that her uncle gave her as a Christmas present and she loves playing songs on it. She loves to play music and dance around with her friends, especially Specs.

Bobble

The tips of her tentacles used to be lime green because it was her original color. But they’ve faded out overtime because she preferred having her team’s color as her regular hair color!

Japanese ethnicity! She’s knows some Japanese too. She likes to speak it whenever she’s super excited about something.

Aroace flux and she’s in a relationship with 8-Bit (8bibble fans where y’all at)

She has red eyes under her closed peepers. They’re the reason she keeps her eyes closed because she used to scare a lot of kids and get shunned by adults when she had her eyes open. She’s also worried it’s the reason her parents abandoned her

Also yeah btw she lives in foster care. Her parents gave her up when she was young, just not too long after she met her teammates. The orphanage she grew up at had nice staff but she was often lonely when she didn’t see her friends. Other than her eyes, she has no idea why they left her, but she does her best to not let it bother her

She often gets mistakes for Goggles’ sister, and it always makes her laugh. She often wishes she and him were siblings so she could share his nice family… but even then, she kind of doesn’t want to leave the orphanage because she’s seen as a big sister figure to all the young kids there, and she doesn’t want to leave them. They way she sees it, Bobble is the person to them that she wishes she had in her life when she was younger

Has a bunch of vocal stims, one of her favorites is when she’s hopping around in circles saying “adjoop adjoop adjoop!” In this squeaky little voice. I love her

Sometimes Goggles like to join in on her stimming while Specs and Headphones watch them fondly :)

She’s the baby of the team. Specs will let her sit in his lap in squid form while he’s reading, Headphones like to groom her hair and paint her nails as Bobble kicks her feet, and Goggles like to haul her over his shoulder and carry her around while she laughs like like a little girl.

She thinks Rider gives the best head pats. He’s also like a big brother to her! He’s very protective and never minds at all even when it seems she’s bothering him.

Super duper besties with Gloves! He won her over the moment he bought her a panini when she forgot her wallet and now she’ll sometimes cling to him like a monkey. Gloves loves it 😄 They also bond due to their similar sexuality and romantic attraction preferences (they’re both aroace, except Gloves is more sex and romance repulsed while Bobble just doesn’t really ever see anyone that way, but she’s still open to establishing a relationship!)

Mask thought she was unbearable at first, then just two days later and he developed a big fat crush on her. He eventually got over her and just remained friends, but bro has a soft spot for her, no matter what they say.

Same way with 8-Bit, except she had the balls to confess her feelings to her… in a peculiar way that is:

“WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME HAVE A CRUSH ON YOU?!”

“You have a crush on me? Cool! Let’s go on a date!”And they fell in love lmao

She’s a very good artist with a very unique art style. She even does commissions online for a decent amount of money.

She’s weirdly into the horror genre. She loves watching VHS horror and playing scary video games. She can be watching a movie, unflinching at all the gory scenes, while her teams looking at her like 😟 She would’ve LOVED the Walten files if it came out during her time

She always likes to go as something morbid for Halloween. She went as a headless woman once! (Thanks to Headphones’ help for putting the costume together)

She will want to give you a kiss if she sees you feeling down. It’s because she always asks for kisses from her friends when she’s feeling down and they make her feel better. She will also give you kisses if you ask!

She’s the person you go to if you’re feeling down. She hold you and cuddle you and let you cry into her shoulder for as long as you need. She does it all the time with the kids at the orphanage. She’s also a good caretaker if you happen to be sick and bedridden, mostly because she’s had plenty of experience with having to take care of all the other kids at the orphanage.

She likes to listen to LoFi music or any soft video game soundtracks (Undertale/Deltarune/any of that stuff). It helps her fall asleep and strengthens her focus for when she’s studying.

Obsessed with animated tv shows. Those are literally the only shows she watched on tv. She’ll mostly watch stuff that she’d seen during her childhood like maybe TMNT 2012, My Little Pony FIM, Ninjago, Steven Universe, and any modern animated shows that happen to have more defined lore and story. She would absolutely go insane for Rise of the TMNT and I know she would get her entire team to watch the show with her. Same with Lego Monkie Kid (I still need to watch that show)

Wanna know a secret? (She has depression!!!) no, I’m not inserting this headcanon on her because of edgy purposes or as a lazy attempt to make her character structure seem more “interesting”, but I just feel like that there’s so much that’s going on in her life that she chooses to bottle up because she doesn’t wanna bother her friends about it, but in turn, it just makes it all worse and eventually it all crumbles down when she can’t help but cry due to all the stress and built up emotion she’s been hiding away in herself. This girl needs a fucking hug a fucking forehead kiss lord god. No, she’s not suicidal, she just needs someone to be honest with. Probably the first person (or people) she will eventually be honest with is 8-Bit and Mask. When her team finds out what’s going on, you can imagine they’re surprised to say the least, but they do what they can to help little sister- I mean their friend.

These are prone to be updated because ideas be booping around in my head like the dvd player logo.

Random S5 headcanons (part 1)

Army

His real name is Ernie

Stress bakes; one time he got so freaked out over something that he baked THREE WHOLE CHEESECAKES. They were very tasty and he would’ve been more proud of it had he not been so scared at the time

Speaking of, he has anxiety too. Folks call him paranoid all the time

The Autism is big with this one, boys. OCD too

He actually also has anger issues too, but he’s good at keeping himself leveled. He’s kinda ashamed of it, even though everyone else tells him not to feel bad about it. He’s just always so worried that someday he’s gonna do or say the wrong thing that he won’t be able to take back

Book smart for the most part (pun not intended)

Octoling—or inktoling really. He wasn’t born in octarian society, but rather he’s a hybrid of an octoling and an inkling but he happened to inherit most of his father’s genes (there’s really more to it, but I’m not gonna get into it cuz BLAH). The reason no one could ever tell was because he applied makeup, hid his hair, and had his ears carved to represent that of an inkling’s sharp ears. His grandfather was the one who carved his ears, honestly

As you can imagine from the last point, yeah, his grandad was pretty strict, even abusive. He grew up with his grandad actually on a ranch in a rural part of Inkopolis. Perfect storm to happen; Army’s father got mugged and murdered by somebody and his mom died from an unknown sickness. His other family members had moved far away so, he was left with his grandfather. His grandad didn’t like how he was a half octoling and gave him hell for it. Grandad was actually a soldier during the Great Turf War so… Wasn’t too surprising that he wouldn’t be too happy about having an octoling as a grandchild.

Army’s grandad was more on the verbally abusive side. When it comes to physical abuse it was mostly when he makes Army do an excessive amount of manual labor, like lifting and tossing heavy stuff on the ranch, repainting the fences whenever they start chipping, that kind of stuff. Although, he was no stranger to getting more physical with Army, mostly striking him across the face or stomping his heel on Army’s feet. When people asked about the big red marks on his cheeks or his swollen feet, he’d tell them he hit his face with a branch or he stubbed his toes. Neither story ever convinced anyone.

Knows some martial arts, like judo and taekwondo. His grandad taught him that, too. He’s actually really good at it, mostly because he takes note of every move in great coherent detail. He never has anyone to train with, though, other than grandad. Even then, grandad isn’t always the most motivating partner

Because he’s an inktoling (with mostly octoling dominant genes) he’s got a pretty shitty immune system. He gets sick white often, so it’s seen as a bigger deal whenever he and his team come out to do turf wars, since he also has to balance time practicing martial arts, jotting down in his manual, doing farm work, the likes.

Short shit. He’s the only, and I mean the ONLY S5 member who’s under 5 feet. He’s 4,8 lmao

However, he’s built as a brick garage. Tossing tons bags of hay around a day at a time will do that to you. No one ever notices because he’s always got his parka on

His military persona is also from the influence of his strict grandad. Army also believed it would better improve his skills in turf war, which he strived to be good at since it felt like it would be the only way to get his grandfather’s approval. Now? He doesn’t care no more. Still, he holds his personality true, but he’s settled down a bit

Goggles was one of the first people to find out that Army was an Octoling (inktoling) and the moment he did he was like “bro, you’ve gotta meet my parents”

Army was THRILLED when he met Goggles’s parents, because Goggles’s parents are actually octolings too! Same with his little twin sisters. (Based on a headcanon between me and an oomfie on Twitter) For the first time Army felt like he belonged somewhere, truly as an octoling. They were so nice to him too, and they welcomed him in with open arms. They also even offered him a place to stay when his grandad kicked him out after a fight they had. Goggles’ mom immediately called the police on his grandfather when that happened. Army didn’t stay with them for too long before he eventually got a place with Mask in Splatsville. Even then, he’ll always be in their debt.

Not only that, but Army was also the first to find out that Forge was an Inktoling too, as vice versa. Those two were in a silent solidarity until octolings became a more open part of society, so they’re solidarity became less silent :) they are still friends

Army had a real cheesy crush on Forge at one point. It was like a tragic romance written by a medieval writer where he never had the courage to confess his love for her. It was even worse because she was a lesbian so he never stood a chance 😞

Even after leaving his grandad, he still misses him sometimes. Sure, he was a shitty person… But he was one of the most familiar people he ever knew, and there was still some love for him somewhere in Army’s tight and damaged heart. Nonetheless, he never went to visit his grandfather in prison

Actually enjoys going to parties hosted by Aloha, as long as nothing goes too far or out of hand. He always brings his teammates over too and they have a lot of fun. For him, it’s always a great escape from his shitty home life, and he loves to find ways to enjoy himself amongst familiar faces. Even if they don’t know who he really is underneath his beret and eye makeup. Even after his life started looking up, he’d still find it in his time to attend some of those parties; plus, he enjoys bringing some desert or curry he makes!

Cooking also brings a source of relaxation and comfort to him, especially if he gets to share it with people he cares about. His grandad would never admit it, but he was impressed by every single curry recipe Army came up with

He started forming a crush on Goggles when they got closer because of Goggles’s octo family. It was also the fault of the parents cuz they tried hooking them up together (you know they showed Army ALL of Goggles’s baby pictures)

His real name is Lee

Absolute extrovert (I JUST REALIZED IT SAID INTROVERT HUH???). He just has this talent of getting along with just about anybody. When he got an apartment in Splatsville he started bunking with this giant ass, stone cold, socially detached butch lesbian. Just a week later and they started acting like best friends. It’s that friendship rizz he got

He likes to tease people a lot, not in a mean way, he just likes to get under people’s skin as a way of playing with them. Lilith tried to clock him in the nose for it one time, so he doesn’t tease her anymore… Or at least not as much (he can’t help it!)

Fashionista mofo. If you’re looking for him, you’ll typically find him at the mall or the beach if he’s not at Mahi Mahi Resort. He loves getting his nails done, dying his hair, trying on some new clothes, checking out all the babes, and dragging all of his buddies along with him

He likes to style his hair a lot, mostly just changing the colors and ombré shades. Sometime the ombres also appears in his ink at the tips of the splotches.

His hair and ink are also kinda glowy, too. That’s because he’s a Firefly squid 🦑

Pretty good at dancing. He’s also a pretty decent singer. He tried doing both at the same time once but he didn’t have enough breath in him for that. I’m, three dots from, stardooooom

Sometimes he likes to sing when he thinks he’s alone. If you catch him and he notices, he’ll scream like a little girl and pass out probably. Mans is shy

Pansexual. He’s better at flirting with anyone when he’s only doing it for show, because he has more confidence due to not worrying about rejection. However, he absolutely fumbles and stumbles over his words if he’s tryna get with someone who he sincerely has an interest in. He’s also not good with receiving flirts back, cuz the moment he gets complimented he melts like an unsupervised popsicle in the summertime.

Important to note: He has a bit of a temper. At one point people thought he had anger issues, but it’s not that extreme. He just has a hard time keeping his patience with some people. He also has a hard time concealing it because he doesn’t ever consider his temper to be an issue. It’s not like he gets mad often, but if you press the right buttons then he’s gonna get as steamy as a train

His parents are in charge of the grand bar Mahi Mahi resort, so that’s why he and his team or just about anybody he has along with him are able to come and hangout 24/7.

He knows how to make alcoholic beverages, but he’s responsible about who he serves to (to an extent. But he always makes sure his buddies never drink too much and that they have some water at least while making sure they don’t do anything too stupid.) He always keeps a bottle of gin in his drink cabinets because Army likes that stuff, apparently (gin tastes like shit), and he loves watching Army get absolutely wasted and fall to the floor. It’s the goofiest shit. He’s always willing to care for his hungover ass afterwards, anyways

He also hosts a bunch of parties over at his place, and depending on the kind of people or how many people he has, he he might open up his mini bar. Still, he makes sure not to serve anyone too underage or if they can’t hold their liquor well.

He’s also very strict about any tampered drinks. He and his team take upon the role as drink supervisors at his parents’ bar and his own house parties. The millisecond they see any drinks with the ice sinking, change in color, excessive bubbles, or a foggy appearance, it’s out of the field; they’ll spill it in a potted plant, sink, hell, they’ll even shut it out the window. Aloha doesn’t stand for that shit. Everyone at the bar and his parties are supposed to have fun. No one was gonna get hurt on his watch.

Typically, when he catches drink tamper culprits, he’ll deal with them himself. Sometimes he’ll get someone strong like Diver, Rider, Army or Skull to hold them down while he… Teaches them a lesson. He’s very serious about this kind of stuff. If you wanna know why, ask what happened to his mum when she was in high school.

Anyways- he’s very, very verbally affectionate with any significant other he has. Words of affirmation is his strong long language. Whether they’re a boy, girl, or enby he’ll always find new things to compliment them for every day. He’ll say things like “my BIG STRONG handsome boy ☺️” “man, I’ve scored such a gorgeous lady” “you always looks so wonderful every day. What’s your secret, love?” I just wanna see him be verbally affectionate.

He’s also physically affectionate. I’m talking peppering his love’s face with kisses, nibbling on their ear while hugging them from behind, back neck and shoulder kisses. He does everything he can to make sure his lover is truly loved

Btw forgot to mentioned but Aloha’s got a GIRLFRIEEEEEEND! She’s a beautiful, tall, strong and blue haired octoling lady who he loves to pieces! AND SHES TRANS TOO! TRANS FOR TRANS! Her names O’sana, but her nickname is Beach and she’s eventually became part of Lilith’s team in Splatsville and she wields the custom goo tuber and loves to octo bag with it. They met during a 1v1 tournament in Splatsville when they were playing against each other, and the moment she winked at him once he was head over heels and on his knees for her. Is actually depressed. Bro was acting like an edgy teen back when they were 14, but as they got older they did actually start developing depression. Bro isn’t suicidal or anything, or at least they don’t actively seek to harm themselves, but bro has this kind of… Depressive symptom where they would just have a lack of care for if they like got killed all of a sudden, even almost hoping it would happen. Instead of being all mopey and sad and crying themselves to sleep at night, Mask is really just in a numb state. They just don’t care about anything. They still pull through because of all their family and friends, and bro knows that leaving those people in his life wouldn’t do any good.

Bro gained his depression from his mom suddenly passing away when he was 18. She died in a horrible car crash. They were even the first to find out because he accidentally stumbled across the scene. It wasn’t too far from where they lived. Thankfully, Mask is seeing a therapist, but he’s having trouble opening up still.

Acts like a cat. Loves to cuddle, really lazy with their movements and mannerisms, and love bites. Nibbles on your hand like a creature

Plays the chello. At first he started playing because he thought that the low pitch of the chords were edgy, lmao, but then the sound of it felt soothing and it ended up growing on him. Bro plays it whenever he’s stressed out over something or if he just needs a moment to clear his mind. It helps them think better, too. He’ll play for you if he feels like it or if you ask nicely, but he’s usually shy about it.

Crusty gamer, but they have a quite an attractive face hiding underneath. Aloha dramatically passed out when he saw Mask’s true face, like, got damn didn’t know you were so pretty

Mask doesn’t really like to take his mask off in general. At first it was so bro could look scary and intimidating when bro was younger (and because of hay fever of course), but now it’s because they value their privacy—and hay fever still. Plus, they find comfort in their anonymity. They typically keep it off when they’re at home or at a trusted friends house

Aloha’s octoling roommate, Lilith, creeped the shit of him when they first met, even though they were kinda similar in how they acted. Bro was just really off put by her gigantic size and build, and the fact that she was missing an eye and had previously been part of the Octarian army—as an army captain no less—oooh bro had the heebie jeebies! They actually ended up becoming friends after they just trauma dumped to each other one night during one of Aloha’s parties. There were tears and ugly sobs involved. Now? Don’t tell anyone, but Mask thinks she’s fine as hell (they like their women buff).

Seriously though, now Mask is practically head over heels for that woman. It’s odd because he was never the romantic type despite having some sort of interest in a lot of people, yet never really having an interest to chase for a relationship until she came along and they got used to each other… Further more so, she was someone who calmed him out of a panic attack. It’s why he never wants to admit it, because not only does he get all defensive when people bring it up due to being afraid of her finding out and potentially beating his ass over it—exaggeratingly, or just having to face the reality that she simply may not be interested in them, but bro also half believes that what he’s feeling is just a simple little crush. Besides, that “hochi mama” is a little too out of his league… or so he thinks.

Hangs out with Bobble, even though her smile used to erk him to the end of the world. He also likes hanging out with Goggles, too. The both of them treat Mask nicely and bought him a game that he really wanted for their birthday, so now Mask feels like he’s indebted to them (that’s what he says, but bro just likes hanging out with them)

They were real chill when Army came out as an inktoling—bro also came out as a sharkling at the time, too, kinda to ease the tension and be like “ain’t nothing special bro look at me.” He was also the first to find out about Army having a crush on Goggles and he tried to hook ‘em up on a few dates just for shits and giggles, and sort of to see what would happen. Bro did feel happy when they got together, feeling proud of themselves, but then they got flabbergasted when the two of them also got with Rider and Skull— “Wait, did I miss a few chapters? What the hell”

His real name is Sloan

Walking embodiment of autism. Adhd is hiding in him somewhere, too

Also gay. Unlike Rider, he’s more open about it—or chill at least

He’s a kraken squid, one of the strongest and biggest species in the inkling and octoling genuses. Being a kraken squid not only gives him more animalistic traits in the way he acts, like being territorial and prone to snapping his teeth and growling, but he also has bones. Krakens are one of the only ones, besides leviathans and some sharklings, to have bones in the cephalopod class

That being said, he’s broken an arm at one point. He mentions it every so often like it was a fever dream and people look at him alarmingly because the way he broke his arm sounds absolutely agonizing

Besides the E-liter, he also likes using the krak on splat roller every so often. They see me rolliiiiin

Likes to wear goth punk style, either that or more casual punk rock. He’s not the kind of person to overdue himself: just give him a band tea, some torn pants and some skull pant chains and he’s good to go

Gives the most bombastic side eye

He says he tone deaf when he sings, but he can actually sing pretty good. It’s really soothing, though it can also be rough depending on which style he’s in the mood for. He’s just really shy about his singing and uses it as an excuse not to sing. You gotta bully him into doing it (don’t do that tho, not nice) He can also rap pretty good, too. And he’s really good with the bass guitar and regular guitar

Has really beautiful tanned skin, because he stands out in the sun all day holding his e-liter in matches and he’s Scalican and knows Coralish (Splatoon pun of Mexican and Spanish) he’s got a bunch of tan lines, too

He’s been wearing his skull bandana for the longest to hide his sharp ass teeth to try to avoid people from getting spooked of him. Well, the skull on his bandana didn’t really help all that much, but he actually kinda liked the style because he felt intimidating for another reason other his real teeth.

He’s naturally strong as hell and tall as a skyscraper because he’s a kraken squid, and he’s been like that since he turned 14. It’s because of that lots of people are always intimidated by him, even when he tries to prove he’s docile (Kind of a discrimination thing he’s gotta deal with everyday 😞). But deep down he’s a gentle giant. Really trustworthy man, too. He also has sharp claws; they’re very pretty

Got into a few fist fights, some double sided and… one sided, between him and some drink tampering shmucks Aloha would catch at his parties or at his parents’ bar. He’s never started a fight, but he has sure as hell finished them all

He’s kinda insecure about handling kids and hatchlings. He loves them to death, but because of his giant, intimidating feature, he knows he’d be prone to accidentally freaking younglings out. It also has to do with the fact that his hatchling cousin started crying really hard the millisecond Skull tried to hold them in his arms one time back when he was like 12; He still hasn’t gotten over it. It’s kinda ironic though, because despite his intimidating form, lots of younglings and hatchlings actually really like him right off the bat. It’s probably because he’s actually really patient and good with kids in general. He’d play with them, keep them out of trouble, and just knows what they’d need on a whim. He’s your go-to babysitter kind of guy

His favorite pastries are cannolis and paninis, his favorite cakes are cheesecakes, and his favorite candy would be all three flavors of chocolate. He had a crisis when he had to choose one team during the chocolate splatfest

Really territorial about his food. He growls if you get near him while he’s eating food, especially sweets. Not only that, but he’s even worse when he’s with a significant other. He’ll straight up snarl at you if he feels like you’re bothering them. He’d even snap his teeth like a dog at you. Leave him alone to cuddle with his boyfriens >:(

He does also growl and snarl when he senses danger, if he’s pissed off, or if he just wants to be left alone in general. He’s got a low, deep growl that can pierce your soul. It’s some freaky shit. It makes for a good warning to not cross him, cuz he will fuck you up bad.

He also purrs a lot, and LOUDLY. He loves to purr, it’s his own way of showing affection. He also likes to nibble, whether it be on your hands, neck, ear, anywhere. He’ll also play bite and it‘s so ticklish. He’s like a doggy 💜💜💜

He had a crush on Mask once, back when they played in Inkopolis Plaza, but it was mostly because bro was so affectionate with him. Mask was actually his gay awakening before he decided that he liked imagining Mask as more of a friend. Mask also made for a great wingman, anyways.

Skull fell for Goggles the same reason he fell for Mask, because he was so nice and affectionate with him—even though he flashed him to the public in the square (you had to be there). He was also intrigued by him because he admired how Goggles faced him so determinedly, even after Goggles lost against him. He was the first person who wasn’t afraid of Skull right off the bat, and that really did confuse him for a really long time

There’s also Rider; He got the feels for Rider after he faced up against Emperor, admiring Rider for his fierce determination as well as his rather noble leadership to his team, which put Skull and the rest of the S4’s abilities to shame after their embarrassing defeat… It was when he realized that did he finally begin to realize he had a type—and that he was poly. You could also say their pep talk they had before Rider faced Emperor’s team had played a part in it. They also got closer during the ranked battle championship arc.

As for Army, well, he and Army bonded when he found out Army was an inktoling. Skull kinda related to him, as he was also seen as different from other inklings in society because of his large and intimidating structure—though Army didn’t really have to face that, but he was shamed for who he was by his grandad so that was something he and Skull had somewhat in common. He was also there to comfort Army when he was going through it with his grandad getting arrested and everything. He even offered him a place to stay if he needed, even when Army assured that Goggles’ parents were happy to have him around. He’s also really grateful for the fact that Army always makes sure to be his reminder for a bunch of things and also keeps him from getting lost, and his curry is YUM YUM YUM (proof that good food makes even the bad bitches fold)

He and Aloha’s friend, Lilith started out a bit rocky, but then they grew to have a mutual trust in each other. They also ended up becoming friends after Lilith heard him singing and started singing along (they’re both shy about singing)

Weekly ink rifle meet up with Headphones and Half Rim. Eventually they started inviting N-Pacer! It’s just when they spend the day doing friend stuff, cuz theyre friends now :)

Rider

Real name is Roe

Is BRI’ISH. Heavy British accent boi; “oi my names Rida’ ”

Dude is so tone deaf. But he can keep a beat pretty well. He’s tried to play the drums at one point, but he hasn’t played in a while. He has to have his drum set hiding in his house somewhere

Socially detached. He was taken advantage by other kids a lot when he was younger, and those memories never left him. He’s also had a few issues growing up, too, especially without his dad.

His father left him and his mom before he and his siblings were even born. He doesn’t even have a good idea as to what he looks like since his mom took down every photo in the house that he was in since he left them. His mom refuses to ever mention him, and if Rider ever does she’s quick to change the subject. All he knows is that he inherited his father’s voice, and he and Platinum inherited his nose and lips. Rider never knew why he left. But truth be told, he doesn’t care no more, he’s got so many more people to worry about nowadays

Coming back to edit this part: He has a twin sister and a twin brother btw. He’s one of three triplets. His sister’s real name’s Rinet (it’s Renet but it’s just spelled differently) and his twin brother’s name is Ryan. Rinet’s nickname is Platinum while Ryan is Rockin’. Platinum wears the white inky rider and she mains the golden aerospray, while Cooler wears the Rockin’ leather jacket and mains the Golden Enperry Dualies. Rinet’s kinda an asshole but she’s a pretty fun friend to have around. Ryan is more laid back and a “go with the flow” kinda guy, but literally he doesn’t care about a lot of stuff. Rider and them all used to be on the same team until he got sick of Rinet’s shit because he thought she was such a snooty player and decided to go his own way while Rinet left with Ryan. Eventually, Rider found his own team that he has now. Every so often, if one of his teammates get sick or unavailable, Platinum will automatically fills in for them, and if not her, then it’ll be Rockin’ .

Platinum doesn’t play turf war or ranked battles that much. She’s mostly seen doing Grizzco shifts to try to help her and Rider’s mom pay the bills and get their mom closer to retirement; it’s also to save up money for college. Rockin’ and Rider wish she would quit someday, as they don’t trust Grizzco industries and their “policies” and work environment. Rider doesn’t admit it, but he worries about her a whole lot. Rockin’ does his best to keep an eye on her, mostly by tagging along with her in salmon runs as joint workers.

He’s pretty skilled with the E-Liter. He likes to stick with the no-scope; inspired by Headphones, in purpose of keeping an eye on his team.

He and Wireglasses weren’t related. They did grow up in the same neighborhood as kids, before Wireglasses moved to Splatsville with his parents. It made Rider kinda sad because they were actually good friends, one of the only real friends he ever really had before blue team. When they met again after he went to Splatsville, they gave each other a big ol hug.

His ass does NOT like Emperor. Emperor doesn’t like him either, except it’s more that he just doesn’t vibe with him, meanwhile Rider just LOATHES him to pieces. Certified hater. If they’re both in the same room, Rider will go out of his way to stand in the opposite side of the room just to be as far away from “that fancy ass whiteboy” as possible. It’s so ridiculously funny and more so when you remember that all of team blue are good friends with Emperor so it really ruffles Rider’s feathers. Emperor honestly doesn’t know why he’s like this, but only Rider remembers him from their elementary days…

He has nothing against Prince, tho. If the S4 say he’s cool, then he’s cool.

He actually somewhat cares for Prince just a little bit after hearing how Emperor used to tease him a lot as a kid so he just uses that as another reason not to like the pompous bastard.

His mom is… She’s not perfect, to say the least. Who is, though? I mean, Sheena really did struggle to cope when he boyfriend abandoned her when she fell pregnant, with triplets no less. She absolutely refuses to drown her sorrows in alcohol and drugs, I implore her for that, but she was still incredibly depressed even when her kids came into the world. She was slightly neglectful during their first few years, and her parents didn’t bother to help her with them because she left them to be with her boyfriend, but they didn’t bother regaining contact even when she was struggling. Sheena got better eventually, especially after she started gaining more friends in the neighborhood who helped co-parent. Eventually she was able to get back on her feet and become the kind of parent she wanted to be for her three kids. Since then, she became a lot more energetic and bombastic, she had that cool aunt personality while juggling around two kids at the same time. She loves her babies to death, and she thinks it’s funny to kind of embarrass them in public all the time by giving them kisses all over their faces and head and giving them right hugs. Yes, it’s embarrassing, but Platinum, Rockin’ and Rider know that life would be a lot more duller without their mother around. 💚🤍🖤 (not me indulging in motorcycle mama 😭)

His mom’s part of a biker gang, and she has the nickname Rose because she wears a pink leather jacket that she got custom made. She’s got a sweet, red Road-King in the garage. She keeps saying that she’s gonna get Rider a black Road King someday when he’s old enough. Rider honestly doubts it, but don’t underestimate his mother’s determination to keep her word.

He’s honestly in no rush, really. In fact he’s afraid of getting back on the motorcycles again. He used to ride around on the back of his mom’s motorcycle and be part of “the gang,” but he take on a hiatus after a car accident that had him fist bumping death’s hand before he ended up in the hospital for almost a week with a scar that’s never gonna leave. He hasn’t road with her since, but even he admits that he wants to get back on it someday.

He’s pretty smart with cars and with motorcycles, too. He learned it all from his mom. Why go to the car repair center when you can take it over to his house to get it checked on? Charges a fair price, too. Rockin’ and Platinum like to help out too, but they’re much more experienced in motorcycles since they both own one and take of their own.

His right eye is partially blind from where he got sanitized. He would’ve felt more insecure about it if it weren’t for his boyfriends assuring him that he’s such a handsome boy every single day since they each of them got together.

Yes, he is built like a brick house. He swings a large mass of metal around like a wiffle bat everyday out in the battlefield. What else did you expect?

He’s so easy to scare, it’s hilarious. You can come up from behind him and go “BOO!” And he’ll jump a little and just glare at you. But if he gets really scared, like if he’s in one of those haunted house attractions, hell literally shoot six feet in the air or he’ll start screaming and slowly start falling to the ground in slow motion. It’s even funnier because he’ll grab the nearest person he’s with and they’re both gonna eat shit together by falling or he’s gonna throw them over his shoulder and bull a skiddadle. No man left behind 🫡. Either that, or he’s just gonna run away so fast without saying anything; there was also this time he was playing basketball by himself in the evening and the lights suddenly went off and he SPED AWAY so fast you could hear the fear in his shoes when they squeaked. (That last part is based off a funny video I saw of a man running away when the streetlights went of). His ass does not like horror games, either
