Update: Script for "Aeternus" Complete!
The script for Aeternus is officially 100% complete! All that remains for the game is the editing of Chiharu's route and Haruka's mini-route. Here is a quick list of each arc:
Mari's Arc (true arc), 1 possible ending
Kanari's Arc (friendship arc), 2 possible endings
Chiharu's Arc (romantic arc), 2 possible endings
Harula's Arc (bonus arc), 1 possible ending
Aeternus is estimated to take anywhere from 1-3 hours to complete. An official release date should be announced sometime next week. We at Skyelight are aiming to have the game released by the end of May, but do to work complications, it may be pushed back into the beginning half of June.
Along with the release of the game, an official game guide for Aeternus will be released. It has already been made. At some time after the game's release, a soundtrack will be released as well.
Thank you all for your support in the making of this game! See you soon!
Update: Progress on "Aeternus" Going Well
Aeternus is still in the production stage, but the expected release date is still scheduled for May 2014. Editing is 75% complete and the script is between 85-90% complete. Here is a more detailed list of what is going on:
The common route is completely finished.
Mari's route is completely finished.
Kanari's route (both ends) are completely finished.
Chiharu's route scripting is in progress, mostly complete.
There will also be one featured mini-route unlocked after completing the Chiharu good end once. After the release of the game, there will also be a soundtrack download available, featuring all songs used in the making of Aeternus (will proper crediting).
We would like to thank all of our supporters. A proper release date will be announced after more progress is made.
Sneak Peek: Characters of "Aeternus" - Chiharu Fukuda
"...and that's totally unforgivable!"
Chiharu is a first-year at Isao's high school. She is a member of the art club, along with her friend, Haruka Kajiyama. Isao first meets Chiharu because of a misunderstanding. She is impulsive and sassy, but always has good intentions. Her arc is the romantic arc and has 2 possible endings.
(Credit for art goes to Rinmaru Games. Sprite made with "Mega Anime Avatar Creator".)
How could one become involved with Skyelight Visual Novels, and what kind of positions would be open to help in the development of current or future works?
Currently there are not many ways in which volunteers could help the Skyelight team, not with Aeternus at least. For future visual novels you could possibly help come up with story and plot ideas or character designs. If you are familiar with and have access to photoshop you could perhaps help create and edit sprites for future releases to take some of the workload from Kaito. There is no real way one could help with Ren’Py editing, as it is all on Kaito’s laptop. If you are a skilled artist and don’t mind volunteering your time, you could perhaps submit examples of your work and possibly create custom sprites and/or backgrounds for future games. Unfortunately there is no way anyone will be able to volunteer until Aeternus is completed as it is already halfway to completion.
Do you have anything planned for future works?
Yes! Right now our only future release planned is Kanari After and possibly (but not confirmed) Chiharu After. They will be after stories (storyline continuations) for the heroines Kanari Takarano and Chiharu Fukuda from our upcoming release Aeternus. We do not have any release dates or further information on these. Right now we only know that Kanari After will not be released directly after Aeternus, but will be released in the future after other possible visual novels. As for other games not related to Aeternus, we have not discussed any plotlines yet, but there will definitely be more releases. There will be at least one game unrelated to Aeternus between its release and Kanari After's. More information on future releases will be announced after the release of Aeternus.
