Hey Y'all!
So I've been really busy lately, and I've been neglected this forum for some time... Sorry! o.0The end of my year was a bit hectic, I was running around trying to figure out what I'm going to do next year (school wise) because it was still up in the air that I may not be promoted to a senior. It turns out that that is in fact true, and I'll be a junior again next year. I'm fine with that though. My GPA was appallingly low, so a second chance is a much better idea for me. Plus, I get to start the year with almost no connections to students in the grade. I don't know anyone but the upperclassmen at my school, and not that many people know me. But that's a guarantee in a school of 2400 kids :PAnyhow, since no one really knows me, it will hopefully make my transition that much smoother. The last thing I need is obnoxious people going around pointing out certain biological facts about myself.
I also got a new internship last week, and I'm working at ************* (an Architecture/Graphic Design/Exhibit Planning firm) in MA until the middle of August. It's a paid internship too! Woohoo, I'll actually have money for the first time in months! That'll make my friends happy too they've been dying to take me shopping xD In fact, I already have plans to go and get my eyebrows done with a few other people :DAnd that's another thing that'll make my transition easier. 1000$ more than I would have had to get clothes, makeup, and all that jazz :DThe thing about the job, though, is that I'm probably the youngest one there by 15 years, and I'm not sure how to proceed. Once I do begin to transition, how should I go about it at work? I don't think I can just walk in with a dress one day and expect everything to go smoothly, but I can't really think of another option as of yet.. o.0Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I'd LOVE some advice.
Though there is one major thing holding me back,
I have yet to get a GT.. -_-My dad said a little while back that he found me a therapist, but he chose someone who is a recent grad (from Harvard), and who isn't a GT, so they can't do much for me. He said that a month ago, but I have yet to even make an appointment. I went through the list of GTs in Boston, MA, but I have no idea where to begin.
Can anyone else from Boston recommend someone for me? I value your opinions much more than a short autobiography on someone's website.Oh, I have to have a GT willing to write HRT letters, too.
Also, this is intensely random, but my new Favorite movie is V for Vendetta. It's always been up there, but yesterday I watched it by myself and finally figured out all the symbolism. How everything links together. How every line spoken has subtext and is absolutely relevant to the plot and the emotional quality of the film. I actually cried during the Evey's prison scenes, the part where it focuses on Valerie's autobiography . And people let me tell you that that means something, because I don't cry very much, almost never in fact. That's a testament to how awesome that film is. And I love V's first lines, vocabulary get's my heart every time :D
Whew. Feels good to have that all finally written haha. I've been secretly adding stuff to this post whilst hiding it from coworkers for a few hours now haha
With Love,Skylar
P.S. The company that placed me with my internship,****************, is having all their internships enter into a design competition.
I have to design something based from a social issue. Another guideline is that it has to be based from something dear to me. Now anything GLBTQ* related is very dear to me, but I seem to have hit an artist's block, as it were. I'd love it if you guys had any ideas at all you wanted to share, I could use the help :P Just post anything here, or PM me or something. Thanks in advance :D
(I omitted a part here, cause it was just talking about this Tumblr account)
Okay, I'm done now, I promise xD
