thinking harder about it i really do feel so bad for slade. he considered lex and himself as partners, protected lex, got ragdolled by henshaw, and just constantly put himself in danger only for lex to tell him that he views him as a regular employee. like yeah i'm sure that on paper that was always the terms, but i feel like the way he took care of lex ALWAYS had way more heart and dedication than just that - and lex knew it too. then lex suddenly pulls away, burries himself in his work, and only addresses him as an equal when all goes to pot. it sucks
i love lex so much but i really want to dissect his brain. because i DON'T think he thought of slade as something so disposable until ep8; they were bantering in earlier episodes and slade was comfortable enough to even sit on his desk. i think the consecutive failures got to lex and so did the attachment, causing him to think that these feelings needed to be relegated in order for his plans to really work. he's so stupid. slade would've stayed in his corner forever had he just treated him right. i love you my bald generational fumbler
anyways my delusional brain wants to see lex like throw himself in front of a robot for slade or something to make up for everything. then they can live happily ever after in more ho yay limbo (delusion delusion)

some slex charms i designed after binge watching MAWS in one go!! instantly fell in love with them and their dynamic; they're so so fun + i adore their banter sm 🥹 slade is a dog and lex is a weasel for obvious reasons hehe
realised during my watch that s1 lex has an orange pocket square + that end of season 2 slade doesn't, as compared to in s3 when slade gains a suspiciously similar coloured one while lex no longer wears his. hmm
random slex thoughts and hcs i have because i'm still being delusional about them:
•they were really touchy with each other even before they were dating; slade resting his chin on lex's shoulder, lex doing slade's tie, lex accidentally falling asleep on slade's chest, etc
•adding to the above: lex really likes sleeping on slade's chest. slade really likes lex sleeping on his chest. happens often because despite lex being so tired and overworked, he's perpetually high strung and vigilant!! but being wrapped up in slade's arms and listening to his heartbeat is really calming to lex :")
•i think slade can cook!! i also think that he crafts well balanced meals for lex when he can because otherwise lex will drink 12 cups of coffee, chew a pack of gum, and call turn back to the computer screen
•they're both in denial about how they're jealous people
•slade is actually pretty decent and in touch with his emotions but lex is awful just genuinely awful awful awful. it stresses him out knowing he cares about slade so he distances himself on purpose by throwing himself into his work. my delusional brain says this is what happened which is why he acted the way he did by ep 8
•also, because lex views everything through a "scientific" and almost mechanical lens, his evaluation of everything is that he's failed thus far due to not having enough order/control etc. this comes especially after hank turned on him, and reminded him of the "food chain"; thus he believes that for his plans to succeed slade must be relegated further as his subordinate and NOT his partner. Boo
•on a lighter note i believe they share an apartment (part of the job hah) and that slade wears a really cute apron while he cooks. yeah
