I think I should make the first post on this site, haha. Hi, Tumblr!
It’s a white rainbow. It is also called the misty rainbow. A very rare natural phenomenon. It appears when the sun’s rays illuminate a light mist consisting of tiny drops of water-less than those that form the usual colored rainbow.
This photo was taken by photographer Sam Dobson (also known by the nickname “slavado”) during his expedition to the North pole.
