I’m about to go out on another night now buuuuuuut feel free to send me asks and stuff!
The Wave
I can’t speak for all men, but I can definitely speak for myself and a lot of men that I know. Women might even be able to relate, I’m not sure, let me know. Confidence is not a full time gig. It’s not permanent and one event can take it away for a very long time. Confidence exists as momentum. You need to ride the wave and continually ride the wave or it will cease to exist. This is why after serious relationships men are lost. We have no confidence, no radiating aura, we don’t know what to say or how to be single. It takes longer then we care to admit to go back to being the sought after desirable single man we were before the relationship. This is why I personally have slept around. It made me feel good about myself. In a life where I seldomly feel good about myself, that gives me self worth and self validation for whatever reason. I slept with women who I knew I would never have feelings for and that I knew would never mean anything to me. I never did it to hurt anybody, It’s selfish but it is a necessary evil unfortunately. This is how we ultimately find love believe it or not. You just get to a point where you’re just over it. You’re over being alone, you’re over being hurt, you’re over being unselfish. You start sleeping around and it feels good, physically of course but it goes we beyond that nut that you will forget a week later. Subconsciously you’re confidence is growing and subconsciously there is an aura glowing about you. Women, also subconsciously, are very attracted to that aura. Whether it be just getting that girls number, a successful date, a successful one night stand... you can’t stop there. Your wave will crash and the light glowing inside of you will dim. So you keep going, you pursue women you normally wouldn’t. You approach them in situation that you wouldn’t dare approach them in several months prior and when you are seldomly rejected? It does no damage to you because of all of your recent success. It’s forgotten within a day or 2 and you find yourself with a comparable woman. Other girls see this and want you now too because now you’re desired. The way you carry yourself is now different, without realizing it, you’re damn near the happiest you’ve ever been. You’re having some of the most fun you’ve ever had. You’re meeting amazing people and doing incredible things. This is when you will find someone special. During your conquest of sleeping around and living life to the fullest, that’s when someone will come along and make you contemplate giving all of that up, and you should.
Fast Forward to the end of this relationship (if it ends, hopefully it doesn’t) You’re back to being lost. You were desired when you were in the relationship, but rebounds aren’t as frequent as you would think. If you had to turn down 5 women when you were with your significant other maybe only one comes around when you’re single (for a magnitude of reasons) and chances are that rebound won’t measure up to what you had and will probably disappear shortly after anyways. Like I said, back to being lost, sad, depressed, lacking confidence, no aura, the light is dim. You have to rediscover yourself and rediscover the dating game. It takes longer then anybody would like it to take and it’s harder then you remember it being. When you were ON, dating was easy. But now that you’re in limbo? You probably have enough confidence to hit on one girl and not very well, you’ll probably get rejected and that will send you down a further spiral. Now you need time to heal, and build yourself back up. Hit the gym, buy nice clothes and hopefully find someone that will give you play, which will lead to more play, which will lead to you having the confidence, aura and demeanor to find the one. Meanwhile the chick, she doesn’t have to do anything but look hot and guys are going to make their move. Rebounding for her isn’t half the battle that he will have to endure. The grass usually isn’t greener on the other side. You can try to get your ex back or prepare for the long uphill journey ahead. Everybody has BS that comes as part of the package, was her BS really enough to send you on the long uphill journey? Maybe. That’s for you to decide. Everybody always wants what they don’t have. After being tied down for awhile, you miss being single, pursued & desired. Then you get that life and after awhile you miss having someone that actually gets you and cares about you. Life is a slippery slope.
Thanks for tagging me @indieninja92!
Nickname: cheerios on here. But I recently made my irl nickname my legal name and every time I see it on a formal document or piece of mail or whatever I get this little burst of joy!
Zodiac: gemini sun, scorpio rising, and aquarius moon. I didn’t know what any of that meant until a couple hours ago but I asked my roommate’s girlfriend and she gave me a crash course in astrology and now I’ve got ten new tabs open on my phone and I’m up way later than I meant to be because I couldn’t stop reading. I just remembered I was supposed to be filling out this tag game lmao
Height: 5′1″
Last Thing I Googled: “what kind of scan machine looks like a donut”
Song Stuck In My Head: I’ve got snippets from Backbone by Kaleo and Mad IQs by Idkhow simultaneously looping rn
Number of Followers: not many
Amount of Sleep: anywhere from 4 to 7 hours a night
Lucky Number: 27
Favourite Song: I can’t answer this. My favorite song changes based on my mood, the month, the current phase I’m in, etc. But I’ve had New Invention by Idkhow on repeat for a few weeks so let’s say that’s my favorite for now
Favourite Instrument: sax. I can’t play it (or any other instruments) but I love how it sounds
Dream Job: I really don’t know. I don’t want to to work, I just want to be a genderless orb
Aesthetic: I don’t have an aesthetic, I’m not organized enough for that. I’m whatever aesthetic is: wears only black and gray but covers my walls in rainbows and my shelves with plants and my floor with all the random items I keep meaning to put away
Favourite Author: T. Kingfisher maybe? Picking favorites is so hard, why is that half of this post?? But The Raven and the Reindeer is one of my all time fave books. I’m a slut for fairy tale retellings, especially queer ones
Favourite Animal Noise: our foster cat doesn’t meow. She squeaks. And it has rapidly become my favorite sound! She just squeaks at us whenever she wants food or attention and it’s so cute I die every time
Random: I dropped an f bomb while talking to the governor of Idaho about queer rights and got my class kicked out of his office. I got in so much trouble but it’s one of my fondest memories now. Suck my trans dick Otter, you giant fucking coward
I’m not tagging anyone but anyone should feel free to jump in and consider themself tagged if they want to do it
I accept people in there 20's not being ready for marriage or kids because some of them want to get there life together, but most of the time they just want to sleep with a whole bunch of people. But people In there 30's and 40's, who have there career and life together, still dont want to settle down because they just want to sleep around? I'm 23, I love the idea of marriage, sharing my life with one special person. I guess I'm fucked when it comes to finding someone then.
I love the advice this blog gives, even hbf's advice though harsh has a system of logic to it which I admire. There's two men I'm currently interested in, and I'm having a slight difficulty choosing (perhaps I should write a YA novel of my experiences?). The first I've slept with, rather spontaneously, and uncertain of his true feelings. He's rather harsh with his words (saying that he needs more time to get a real idea of his feelings) but yet his actions are quite romantic. We weren't (1)
(2) prepared for our… encounter, but he bought me a plan b pill just in case our method had failed. He bought me chocolate in the case of the symptoms and water. He texted me the next day to see how I was feeling. He also reads my messages sometimes without responding (maybe he doesn’t know what to say?) but generally manages good contact. He’s to be deployed this month, so that’s another reason we rushed things a bit, but also said if I found someone else, to just stop talking to him. Which (3) brings me to the second man. He’s funny, yet shy and respectful (we watched Annabelle on our first date and was receptive to my holding his hands). I genuinely had a really nice time with him. (Quick anecdote; when we were killing time for the movie, two kiosk guys at the mall assumed we were married- we weren’t even holding hands!- and he wasn’t uncomfortable about it. Instead remarked how they assumed that.) I caught the way he gazed at me, so I’m certain of his feelings. How do I proceed? HBF: Man, I never understood how people could treat sex so easily. I personally, could never do it. It’s an intimate act and creates a lot of hormones and feelings that are hard to suppress. Anyway, I really don’t give a shit who you sleep with. Guy’s gonna be gone for a while and it looks like you already have another guy. Unless you really believe in that True Love ™/I-shall-hold-a-vigil-every-evening-on-the-horizon-awaiting-your-return-my-love shit, then whatever man, your path is pretty clear. You slept with him, blah blah, etc. but the fact of the matter is he’s gonna be gone for quite a bit. Plus, he doesn’t seem to be too concerned about this entire thing either so fuck him. See what this guy’s like and if he’s shit, then fuck him too and you can find someone else. It’s your life in the end and your choices. Whatever you do, at the end of the day, you make the bed you lay in not some random asshole on the internet who has no idea about you.
When you've tricked with everybody in town, but don't want to jeopardize those relationships.
