I’m sitting in the Pediatrics waiting room with my baby brother and I see this tiny babe wearing teeny tiny pink crocs. It reminded of Eli’s crocs and then I imagined him wearing pink crocs. It was so hard to keep myself from laughing uncontrollably.

We all got to the camp site around midday and began setting up. Since we had a ton a people with us, our campsite looked like an little elaborate tent city. We cooked tons of food, told a bunch of stories, some drank, some smoked and we all had fun. When night fall came around, we all huddled around a camp fire together and stared up at the stars. This is where the killing begins.
First, my brother and his girlfriend left the campfire to go to the lake for a night dip. One by one, Elena, Hillary and Freckle, Jenn and Tilly then Darri and Brendon followed behind. The people left by the campfire were David, Elijah, Niel, Monica, Tan and I. After ten minutes after the first group left to go swimming, we heard screaming. I told Niel, Monica and Tan to start packing up while David, Eli and I ran to the forest. Halfway there, Elena came running up to us. She was crying, bloodied up and screaming about how some demon came to attack them at the lake. She said that the demon snatched up Tilly and shredded her to pieces and killed my brother and his girlfriend in the lake then told them that they all had to kill each other before sunrise in order to escape out of the forest alive. Elena began crying even more so I sort of got annoyed and told Eli to bring her back to the camp and help the others pack.
David and I continued on our way to the lake, where the other girls were. Once we got there, David ran up to Freckle and Hillary while I stayed at the edge of the forest to observe for a few minutes. As Elena said, there was blood everywhere around the lake and Jenn cried over a pile of limbs which I guessed belonged to Tilly. Darri and Brendon stood beside her, but something was really off about them. I started walking towards them, then suddenly Darri pushed Jenn down and started choking her while Brendon held her arms down. I froze up and watched them. I couldn't even move when Jenn spotted me and tried calling out to me for help. I was terrified. I've seen people kill each other before in person, but never thought that my friends would start trying to kill off each other.
Another muffled scream came from my left, I looked to see that both Hillary and Freckle were trying to team up on David. Hillary was trying to put him a headlock while Freckle was cutting him up with a small knife that she happened to be carrying with her. I wanted to run and push them off of him, but I noticed that Jenn finally stopped moving and Darri and Brendon were now making their way towards me. Darri called out my name and sounded very worried about me, but I started falling back away from her. Now Freckle and Hillary finished killing David and began making their way to me too. Hillary was sort of lightly jogging to me with a sort of cheerful bounce in her step. She got to me before the rest did and told me to join her and Freckle. Before I could answer her, a gunshot sounded and next thing I knew Hillary was dead on the ground. Freckle, Darri and Brendon all froze and looked to me. Freckle screamed curses at me and came sprinting at me. I screamed but was suddenly pulled back by Eli who started shooting at Freckle. It took him three shots to kill her. He then handed me a gun and told me to kill Darri and Brendon before they tried to get to us. I held the gun in my hand for a while, trying to think of other options. Darri called out my name again and began running up to me with tears in her eyes and Brendon following close behind her. I glanced at Jenn's dead body for a second and apologized, then shot Darri in the chest and Brendon in the stomach.
Eli gave me a pat on the head and told me to double check that they were all dead then meet him and Elena back at the camp site. I asked him about Niel, Monica and Tan. He simply shrugged his shoulders and told me that the Demon got to Monica before he and Elena reach back to the camp and then they watched as Tan and Niel helped other with a double suicide by blowing each other's brains out with the very guns him and I were using now. I sort of just nodded and watched and Eli began making his way through the forest again.
I went down to check on Freckle who was bleeding out when all three shots on her thigh, shoulder and stomach. She was still somehow alive and crying about Hillary. I told her sorry and she screamed at me, so I shot her in the head. I didn't bother to check on Hillary because I knew she was dead since Eli shot her in the head with the first bullet. I also knew Darri, Brendon, Tilly and Jenn were all dead now so I went straight on to go check on David. There was a lot of blood coming from all the stab wounds on his stomach but he was still alive somehow. I kneeled beside him and started crying. He told me to stop and joked about how he couldn't feel it at all. He asked me to help him up but I shook my head and told him he had to stay still or else he'd bleed out even more. He didn't listen to me though and started pushing himself up. Something clicked inside of me and I began feeling really annoyed with him again so I held up the gun to his head. He stared with disbelief and asked me what I was doing. I sort of just shrugged and then shot him.
I met Eli and Elena back at the camp, not even bothering to look at my other friend's corpses on the way. Elena was still crying a bit and Eli looked like he was tired and just ready to take a nap. I told them bother than everyone else was dead and we were the only ones left. For some reason, Eli congratulated me on it. I felt a bit offended but nodded. Elena touched my hand and asked me how we were going to her home now. I sort of laughed a bit and told her that it wasn't going to be easy since the demon was probably watching us. Elena asked me what was so funny about that then she stabbed me in the shoulder with a knife. Eli took a few steps back and I screamed out in pain then shot her before she could reach for another knife and stab me again. Elena was dead now.
The Demon reappeared before me and Eli now, as he helped me pull out the knife in my shoulder. Eli already saw the demon before when it was tearing Monica to shreds so he wasn't too surprised with how it looked. I was though. It was a large black mass, unable to be described because it's body and face kept changing from animals to humans to creatures I have never even seen before. It stared down at Eli and I, growling. It let out a deafening roar before coming closer to us and asking if we were going to kill each other.
Eli answered with a simple, "Only if she makes me." And I followed up with, "I'd prefer not to."
Somehow I could make out the demon's distasteful grimace, and it's slight amusement with the both of us. He nodded, I think, and circled around us. I asked it what it wanted to do now, but it shushed me by bringing it's claw up to my mouth. It asked Eli what he wanted to do now, Eli responded by sawing he wanted to just go home and shower off all the blood before sleeping. It asked me what I wanted, and I told it that I just hungry now. The demon laughed now then told us that we weren't allowed to go back home now because he found us to be so amusing. We had just killed all of our friends but it didn't seem to bother us too much. It offered us the choice to kill each other now, or follow it back to it's dimension where it would raise us as it's own and teach us it's demonic magic and stuff. Since we didn't really want to die, we told it that we'd follow it. It was so proud of us, then a door appeared in the middle of the camp. It told us to set each of our friend's bodies on fire then to walk to that door. So we did. Eli and I worked together to set each body on fire.
It didn't take us long before we reach the last body, but I woke up just before we set David's body on fire.
I felt so bad when I woke up, but I sort of just rolled over and went back to sleep.
