EXACTLY my concern and it's kind of why i backed off skz (and went to hide in ncity) as soon as i saw it happening. bc i went through the same thing with BTS and i hated it 🫠

the new stuff just doesn't have the same soul, to me. the old era music just had so much heart, and the new b-side tracks have some of it, but they haven't had a title that i loved sincerely since Case 143.

i mean, the gateway group absorbs all the locals 😅 everyone who doesn't actually care about kpop, just this one group. it means that they never learn all the stuff we love about kpop fandom, never get into the culture. which, to me personally, inexcusable 💀

- seonghwa enjoys his life as it is, until he doesn't. luckily for him, choi san is determined to bring some of that joy and excitement back to him in ways seonghwa never would have imagined. it's almost intoxicating - the way choi san lures him into dark waters with the intent to drown, and seonghwa thinks he falls a little too hard and a little too fast because he can't pull himself out of it anymore - angst/fluff/smut/s2l - side woojoong - oneshot, 20k+

If he was expecting some sort of magical revelation of feelings or the sweeping sensation of butterflies in his gut when his gaze settles on Choi San, Seonghwa would be sorely disappointed. His eyes flit over to the back corner of the café and land on a man with sharp eyes and even sharper cheekbones that look like they could cut through Seonghwa’s skin if he dared to touch them. He has to shake his head to keep a morbid thought from slipping through. He sits alone but there are two coffees sitting atop the pale tabletop, and that is how Seonghwa knows this is the person he is looking for. That along with the fact that the man looks somewhat expectant as his piercing stare lingers on the crowd filtering in and out of the door.

He glances over Seonghwa though.

Like the redhead doesn’t seem even the slightest bit out of place.

Perhaps Choi San is looking for someone plain and boring, or perhaps he is looking for someone who seems as loud as he does.

Seonghwa gets the sense that San is quite a bit like Wooyoung just based on the way he is dressed. A form-fitting black tee that strains around muscled and broad shoulders, a simple silver chain hanging around the angled neck of the shirt, all tucked down into a pair of expensive, luxury brand sweatpants. He wears a cap as well, tucking all his hair underneath the hat and only showing a smooth expanse of close-cut burgundy hair. Almost like it used to be shaved close to the scalp but has since grown out some. On top of all of that, Choi San wears a fancy wristwatch with a digital screen on it — a device Seonghwa could not even dream of owning because of the price tag attached to such an item — and it suddenly hits Seonghwa.

He and Choi San are hardly similar at all. He can see that much from visual comparisons.
