Week 8: SQUARES!
Yesterday I spent probably about three hours drawing 300 squares. They’re for the CBF TBF video. Gonna animate my own dang self my own dang self. I’m excited to see how it turns out, not excited about how much work it’s gonna need. The drawing squares wasn’t all bad though. I was watching Legend Of Korra at the same time. Which is a fucking great show by the way. Finished The Last Airbender and I was like, “Ah, shit, what am I gonna watch now? I’m way into this world that Avatar is set in and I want to continue living in it... Oh yeah! KORRA!”
So CBF TBF is officially in the works. The actual video edit is done. Just gotta draw the frames for the animation. The plan is to get each frame on my laptop screen (I exported the video as JPEGs at 6 fps) and trace it with pencil in the squares. Then ink them with Sharpie. Probably then scan them and get rid of any pencil lines in Photoshop; rather than rubbing them ALL out physically. Then put them in the frame animation but in Photoshop and set it to 6 fps. That should mean when I put it into Premier it’ll be the same length as the video. If not I can just speed it up or slow it down till it fits. Alotta work. Hopefully it’ll be done before Christmas so it’ll be a nice early present for everyone.
Got a new real job! Working in a cafe called Marmalade. It’s cute as hell and the people running it are really REALLY nice! It’s quite refreshing to be around nice bosses, and nice colleges. It’s not open yet. But when it is. Boy howdy, I’ll be working there.
At least I’m not a fucking KP anymore.
Played a VERY last minute gig on Saturday at The 27 Club in Liverpool. Turns out it’s called the 27 Club because they have a bunch of images of musicians who died at 27. I kinda hate that. It’s a bit horrid really. Just doesn’t feel like, very nice. The night kinda fell through on the venue a little bit. Two bands pulled out on the day because of the snow. I was filling in for someone who pulled out earlier than that! Was meant to be like three full rock bands and two acoustic acts. Was only one band and two acoustic. It was a really quite nice night though. The other acts were dead friendly and I chatted with them for bit. Gave out ALL my cards; which felt good. The other acts were: Slick Cupid They’re Coming To Get You Barbara Both good artists and nice people so go find them on YouTube and maybe bandcamp and probably Spotify.
Christmas is expensive.
I think that’s it... Not done any more work on Twelfth Night. I finished reading the play. Gonna start on the York Notes for it soon. Kinda wanna finish CBF TBF first.
Next/this (current right now, we’re in it) week will be:
Maybe a gig tomorrow? (Haven't heard back from the venue yet)
Read the Twelfth Night York Notes and maybe make some sounds for it?
Sketch at least 150 frames of CBF TBF
NEW JOB SHIFTS!
Wrap presents (probably gonna do that now actually)
soundtrack for this week has been; Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People and their self titled album, Jamie Lenman - Devolver (it’s still SOOOO GOOOOOOD), and Legend Of Korra
