Facts: Leeches

- The leeches are one of the most common kind of vermin in that can be encountered in the maw besides of rats and nomes.

- They emit a strong smell of old water and mold. Their nestings emit strong smells that can be easly identified. 

- Leeches are known to clog pipes by nesting inside them in large groups. The reason for that is unknown but speculated to be either caused by socialization or mating.

- They are covered in black mucus which coveres the place theyre nesting in. The mucus is very sticky and smells intensely of rot and blood

- Leeches are blind . when theyre hunting they rely on their sense of smell. Its unknown if they can hear or not. 

- Leeches are concidered an absolute pest and theyre trying to get rid of them for years. The Janitor is one of the employees who gets bitten frequently when trying to rid the maw of them. He usualy kills them by squishing them .

- Like the nomes , the leeches avoid the lady and are not going after her even if directly exposed. They usualy try to get away from her.

- The leeches on the maw are bigger than those on the ocean floor. This is caused by the massive amound of food found on the maw.

- Their bite is rather painful compaired to a normal leech

- Their mouth is used for sucking blood as well as crawling along the floor. They rest themselfs by sucking onto an object and curling up. They can remain in that position for several hours , their body producing mucus to keep it moist.
