I swear, Steve McQueen is an absolute fucking genius. Lover's Rock was beautiful - pure Black joy. There were moments that were almost spiritual in their intensity; when the girls carried on singing 'Silly Games' after the record ended in a way that was almost trance like. And then for it to segue so perfectly to 'Kunta Kinte' with all the energy. It was palpable. All in one room with the furniture stripped out...
