Small College Feelings
When registration comes around and it's like the goddamn hunger games waiting and anxiously staring at your screen for a good 10-20 minutes until the number rolls over to the time you can register and then anxiously adding your classes while praying to the universe you get them because there is only one class offered every other semester
Same for housing but there are only three alternative housing dorms and you and every other person on campus with high enough hours knows this
You've had the same professor for all of your classes in a subject area, there is only one professor for this subject and you cannot escape
Your professor has emailed/texted you asking if you are alright if you miss class, this is normal and they genuinely care if they do this, others don't care and just dock your grade
Upper level classes with only 6 people are common, sometimes less than this depending on the class or professor, these never seem real and you cannot skip them
Many professors live on campus too, seeing them outside of class happens a lot
Babysitting, dogsitting, and house sitting for professors or staff is super common but still feels powerful
College acts like they care about students: knows they have your money and can do what they want to you
Medical center will either give you a cough drop or tell you you are dying and to go off campus to see someone else
You know Everyone.
Avoiding people is impossible, especially when you most want to avoid them
Expensive af but somehow food and housing is worse than at big schools that are cheaper???
You either know everything about your professor or nothing
So much gossip travels so quickly
