He herds the cows for fun even though it annoys them

Likes to layout on the porch when the day gets too hot

Chases off foxes and coyotes

kills snakes and rabbits and rats

Learns that the chickens are to be guarded, not killed

Kara’s got reindeer antlers on. Yesterday it was a hat with elf ears. The day before a Hanukkah sweater. In an hour it might be a Santa hat. She really leans into the whole Earth holiday thing. She likes what they stand for. The Earthy tradition of it all, the warmth and togetherness. 

Every doorway in her apartment has mistletoe hanging in it. She’s kissed three fourths of her party guests more than once by now, cheeks and foreheads, spreading the festive cheer. She and Clark don’t actually fit in the doorway at the same time– her cousin is too broad (and so is she, really). She’d gotten him earlier when he’d come in, but now they’re doing the little Kanas Rodeo thing they both do when they almost bump into each other in doorways, laughing. 

Clark puts a hand on her shoulder, Kara beaming up at him as she stops for the kiss he presses to her nose. Good sport, her cousin. “Having fun?” There was no point if he wasn’t!
