On Halloween
Halloween has ALWAYS been my favorite holiday. Don’t get me wrong I’m one of the first people to break out my Christmas sweaters and will consistently end up in a four day food coma from Thanksgiving - but there’s just something about Halloween that really just gets me going. I think it’s because of the absurdity of it all. That and the nostalgia.
When I was a kid, we GOT INTO Halloween. Like really got into it. We were basically the Aadams family. Some of my best memories of childhood are from Halloween and getting ready for Halloween, so as strange as it might seem I always get a warm fuzzy feeling starting in mid-October.
I’ve always been drawn to the absurd. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been that person who was never quite right. I never quite fit into what I was supposed to be - there was always a bit that stuck out. I think I love Halloween so much because it’s finally a time when everyone is absurd.
