You're back in force! Yay! If I use Rakdos's Return on an opponent, but redirect their damage to, say, Sorin, does that opponent still discard cards? Does that change when they're separate effects, like Pain Magnification?
Yes, he or she still discards.
Pain Magnification is different, since it looks for the damage to actually be dealt to the player.
So, I still don't understand Fireball. Maybe I'm just hung up on how I feel like it Should work? Between X, the additional cost per-target, and the damage division, how does it all.work?
Fireball deals X damage, which is the X in the XR mana cost. This damage is divided equally, rounded down, when it resolves among all targets that are legal at the time. Fireball can have any number of targets, but each target beyond the first costs an additional mana. (It has a strive cost of 1, if you will.)
So when you cast it, you choose how much damage you want it to deal in total, and what target(s) you want it to have. This determines its total cost.
Alright, I'll bite. I've been playing DotA2 for about a year now but everyone I used to play with is never on or has lost their machine (you'd be surprised what the percentage is). Pitch me League, I'm curious.
Well gather round and let me tell you a thing. While the DotA2 characters are battling for their lives on what looks like a desolate wasteland, the League champions happily fight in what is nothing less than a luxurious paradise. This works out in our favor. No need to walk allll the way back to base to buy and heal. Press one button and bang you’re back. Travel to and fro at your lesiure. Tired of looking at a map colored literally just 50 shades of gray? League is filled with bright colors and flowers and a cartoon-y style that allows for characters from the absolutely adorable to the grotsque (I’m looking at Urgot and his creepy third nipple). Best of all, I’m ranked Gold II which puts me in (I believe) the top 15% of the player base (I can’t find that stat though, sigh). So I’ll carry you (;
So last night we were headed back to Sheridan from Denver and just outside of Cheyenne we hit a patch of hail. We sun out and landed in the median ditch. Nobody was hurt fortunately, but the car got stuck. Next thing we knew three cars and six people later we were trying our hardest to get the car UN-stuck, but it would only move a little ways. The first car that had stopped was a family who had offered to give us a ride back to Cheyenne. An elderly gentleman had offered to follow the family and then traded off once we reached the first gas station. He proceeded to then find us a hotel, towing company, and paid for it all without a second thought. I'm not a very religious person and all i have to say is that i truly feel blessed to have met those people and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
The regular head judge for our store has left me in charge for the next FNM, but I'm concerned about being taken seriously, since I'm a fairly new judge and player. Any suggestions for a greenhorn?
Be friendly and approachable. Be willing to admit if you don't know something and have to look it up. Especially at Regular REL, you're there to provide customer service and be helpful.
Lots of people seem to want Scry to become evergreen. Personally, I like the idea, as scry works in every color, and it's been expressed to fit in red and blue best. I was thinking tack it to Red broadly and the Blue as a combat bonus like curiosity.
As good as Scry is, I don't think I'd like to see it every set. The problem for its blue evergreen status is that there's no creature-creature interaction. Tacking it on to some creatures would be cool to see, though, and I really hope they have one or two of these in the next set!
Break the Snake Challenge!
The morning is a bit young yet, so I’ll likely post this a few more times throughout the day so as many of my followers see this as possible…. Some discussion on Blogatog as well as some of the goings-on over at CommanDollar has got me wondering just what I can design. So, naturally, I turn to the people who put up with me and my nonsensicalness. You all, my followers. Your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to give me a design you don’t think I (or anyone) can do (prefferably within the parameters set by black-border Magic), and I will do my absolute best to prove you wrong! I've opened a submission box, so you could even give me cards to fix! How cool is that? All submissions made this way will be tagged with "#break the snake" for easy finding! and now for the routine reminder that I am always looking for submissions for artwork to tack onto my cards. Just one more place for your artwork to be seen! And probably seven or so more tags! Yay, publicity!!!
