Snake Hole

Not as young as some, like the major he had been dealing with for so long now, but nevertheless, unexpended and still viable. A good boy to have on your side, if he was somewhat naive, still. All of that meant shit all when you're belly-deep in mud, hiding from a man with lightening at his fingertips, a cat with a fascination with you, and your former mentor alongside a woman who has little to no business helping you. It would be ironic, in retrospect, that she picked Snake over loyalty to the man he was fleeing. An odd dynamic would be born here, in the mud, which they slogged through at as fast a pace it would allow in search of another cavern, given the other had been compromised. Snake had kept himself quiet, not feeling the need to draw any more attention to himself or his companion. As far as he was concerned, he had attention for days he didn't want or need, so why add? But he was tired of the silence, and was, admittedly, concerned about Eva. As such he paused his stride to look at her, exhale in mild exasperation, and speak. "You know, if you had asked me three years ago if I thought I would end up here, up to my belly button in mud, on the run from a guy who can for some reason control electricity, my former mentor, and a kitten, I think I would've had to sit down for a minute and reconsider my career choice."

i’m exhausted beyond belief, freezing cold, kinda frazzled, nearly got arrested, and have a shit load of work still to do to get things in order, but i am home and i’m so happy about that. more to the story when i have a little more time to breathe. <3
