hey there! :) today I was scrolling through my dash and I saw your reblog of a post about 'doing something wrong in the past and advocating against it now' and it was what I needed. an incident kinda related to this concept recently happened and reading that made me tear up. thank you so much.

glad that me just reblogging something I agreed with actually helped someone. That makes me feel good, so you’re welcome!

I reblogged it because I see things online sometimes about someone advocating against bodyshaming, bullying, racism and what not and someone else will come along and bring up something that person did in the past that doesn’t match up with their beliefs now like people don’t change and grow.

Growing up as a kid I used to think it was wrong to be an LGBT person, because I was raised in the church but as i got older and after coming to terms with my own sexuality I’m a firm supporter of LGBT rights and believer that there’s nothing wrong with having a sexuality other than heterosexual.

Don’t let people bring you down about things you may have believed or said/done in the past, when now you’ve come to see where you were wrong. Some people take longer to get to a more accepting thinking and that’s ok as long as you get there you shouldn’t be condemned for taking a little longer than others.

Everyone should always remember it can take a long time to unlearn prejudices that we were forcibly taught. There’s nothing wrong with you if you’re taking/took longer than others to unlearn them, as long as you’re trying and not being harmful until you learn/learned.
