Whoa, that cat has a big ass head.
Kris's first thought probably would have gotten them beaten with cat toys if they said it out loud around Catti and her family. And their mom definitely would have scolded them for it.
But what the hell else were they supposed to say when a cat they'd never seen before was sunbathing out front of a house down the street? They were pretty sure people couldn't get pets - they hadn't seen a single person with one... so... was the cat... a new resident? Maybe that wasn't such a stretch.
Jockington was basically just a snake.

Pushed forward by invisible strings and the Soul's sudden urge to pet the cat, Kris approached the feline and crouched down, offering their hand wordlessly. It was just rude to go up and pet a cat without announcing your presence first after all.
