Rescued characters:

A "rescue character" is what i call a character who died or disappeared in canon but survives the event in my rewrite. This post will be an overview of the cats, particularly kits and apprentices, who survive. This does include Su Susanne's missing kits.

This post may be updated in the future, particularly for non-thunderclan cats

So I was organizing some files on my laptop the other day and found this old fan art I did for @askfuselight With Fuselight being one of the first pony blogs I followed (I've been actually checking out the blog even before I made a tumblr account) I couldn't resist redoing this piece.

The image on the left is the original piece I did back in 2016 and the one on the right is the newer version.

Also, sorry @phoenixswift I forgot how Snowsong's cutie mark looks like T_T

Cautionary Tale: medicine cats should thoroughly educate kits on the dangers of deathberries

Story:

He had tried to eat the berries first, but Snowsong-- the medicine cat-- had told him not to touch them. They said that the berries would make him sick.

This made Ashkit snicker, because, at this point in his little life, the only sickness he knew of was the kind that confined cats to the dirtplace.

He devised a scheme, and rolled some berries into the freshkill pile, excited to see how funny it would be once the others realized his great prank!

However, that’s not what happened. 

His friends started complaining about the food tasting funny, and --unable to contain himself-- he jumped out and proudly announced what he had done. He was greeted with looks of utter horror, followed by a mad rush to Snowsong’s den.

Throughout the night, Ashkit wondered what was wrong with his friends.

He got his answer the next day, with the four bodies of his friends laid out for vigil in the middle of camp.

He trotted up to the bodies, only for Iceshade, mother of Clouddapple and Snowsong, to send him flying across the clearing, until he hit a rock with a loud thud, as she screeched that he had killed her son.

So I was gonna do some thumbnails of a few GreenRose Au scenes and realized I'd never drawn Darkstripe (whom I needed for one of thumbnails) so I thought "Oh I'll do a little ref for him!"

It turned into the whole GreenRose Au WhiteWillow family.

Things have been changed around and I think I've got it the way I want it. Snowkit is now apart of Willowpelt's last litter while Sorreltail remains a Redtail x Runningwind kitten. (Also I just thought one of the two white cats having the only deaf white cat would make more sense)

Anyways, from left to right -

Darkstripe, first apprentice of Tigerclaw and first, eldest son of Willowpelt. Sired by a different tom and never really came to see Whitestorm as a father figure due to already being an adult by the time he begins courting Willowpelt. Sire of Brindleface's litter, Ferncloud and Ashfur.

Graystripe, apprentice of Lionheart and first son of Whitestorm and Willowpelt. Best friend of medicine cat Fireheart and rogue former apprentice Raven. Former member of thunderclan, current only den father of Riverclan. Father of Feathertail and Stormfur.

Rainwhisker, apprentice of Cloudtail. Eldest of second WhiteWillow litter. Very big brother type, always looking out for others. (Possible future mate of Brambleclaw?) A lot like his father but, mellower if that makes sense...

Sootfur, apprentice of Longtail. Middle child of second WhiteWillow litter. Lover of dad jokes despite not being a dad yet. Hopelessly crushing on Spiderleg (cause I like this ship for some reason) and hoping to confess soon.

Snowsong, apprentice of Brightheart/Brackenfur. Youngest of second WhiteWillow litter. Baby, absolute baby. A completely deaf but functioning warrior. Works with Brightheart and Cloudtail to normalize sign within the clans and mostly watches kits during downtime. Named after his paternal grandmother, Snowfur.

Anyways I hope you like the thing I did instead what I was going to do! I like designing these guys and hopefully this will help with thumbnails. If not, I mean, this was fun so
