Do you think soul mates exist or have you even met yours? Oh wow! I'm going to say BOTH yes and no. I know that sounds weird and I'll try to explain. I do not believe in "destiny" or "predetermined fate". I am a religious person, but growing up in the United Methodist Church, I grew up understanding "the doctrine of free will"--while God is all powerful and all knowing and will provide you with guidance for how to live your live, God will not *make* your choices, because God wants you to choose freely (and thus love freely in return). SO! With that in mind, I do believe WE choose who to give our hearts and share our lives with--HOWEVER, that isn't to say God doesn't watch out for us and tries to help us find that "perfect someone". It's very complicated, because what about people who remarry? Who is their soul mate then? But then again, there are people who truly are *perfect* together, that you can't imagine them (or each other) with anyone else! So I guess in the end, my answer is, *YOU* determine who is your soul mate--but sometimes, there are unexplained forces that do guide two people together...and that is where faith kicks in; something that cannot be explained
...So yeah, this turned into a bit of a theological discussion ;o) my seminary education at work! :oP
