I hate that all the Nazis are trying to "claim" snufkin. Tove Jansson was openly against them. And snufkin would have hated Nazis...the only people that can "claim" snufkin is anarchists (´;︵;`)

mini rant on snufkin’s character
Making a document on Snufkin and how to properly portray his character. Might be done in a few days, but the most documented aspect will definitely be from the 19990’s anime and 2019 adaptation— with references to older versions. I feel as if people today often dumb down Snufkin’s character to an emotional whiny selfish dude. Of course he may have those moments, like for example in "Moominvalley, Snufkin and the fairground” when he didn’t consider the others’ feelings and took zero responsibility right until the end. Even then he assumed/accused hemulen of sabotaging the rides. People tend to take these one-off moments way too seriously though, because I often see interpretations of Snufkin as a genuine dickhead </3 Snufkin is very much independent and struggles with socializing. Socializing in the way that he cannot understand or care enough to consider others’ feelings until the very last moment. Unless this is someone he is very openly accustomed with, for example, Moomintroll. He openly cares and demonstrates that by giving him advice, helping him out with issues, or outright telling him when he's being nonsensical. (1990’s) Yet of course this blunt behavior is over exaggerated to make him look outlandish in a way It’s not to say that these renditions of Snufkin’s character are completely out of character because yes, he actually can act this way. An example of Snufkin being outlandish or inconsiderate is in both 90’s and 2019’s versions of Snufkin and the parkkeeper, AND in the 90’s episode of “Hurry Up, Snufkin” (unsure as this is my least favorite episode and i hate rewatching it) However, my point is that it’s extremely exhausting to see the same idea of Snufkin passed around and swapped up from his canon counterpart. Of course, fandom is fandom and I can’t do much about it, but it would be extremely nice to see some more complex ideas of Snufkin, rather than making him completely emotionally immature/distant and a jerk at times. Hence why I hope the document would help people. Anyway hope this made sense thanks for listening to this bs ok bye
I've sort of had this headcanon for Snufkin that instead of directly showing emotion, his hat is the most expressive part of himself (aside from his body language.) So I drew a little example on my computer, that's why it's a little bad but this is implied in the 1990's Moomin anime and it's the cutest thing ever
finally got around to playing the snufkin game
